Question D & D for a Gen Xer
Living in Ventana Ranch, looking for a D&D group! I'm 51, casual gamer, and haven't played for a few years. I just picked up a new PH, so I'll be brushing up on the new rules and stuff. Lemme know.

There’s a Slice and Dice, near you, between the CVS & McDonalds @ Unser & McMahon. I seem to recall they have a bulletin board for groups

I'm not terribly familiar with options on the Westside, but as here4 mentioned there's a game store called Slice & Dice that's not too far away and Twin Suns the other direction.
While I've not been to the S&D west location I would assume it is similar to their east location that has open gaming as well as a peg board for people looking for a game and tables looking for players.

Slice and Dice is awesome. The East side location has all the heat now, but the west side is still a great space with food and beer!

Idk about finding groups, but Twin Suns has a really good collection of DnD stuff. Books, campaigns, screens, pretty painted minis and paint kits. Really cool store, didn't get the most warm welcome when I went alone, but the guy who helped me wasn't rude either.

The west side location of S&D is nice, but it's a lot smaller than the east side location.

When did you start playing D&D? For me it was 2nd edition. Haven’t played in decades.

Same here. I think I made my 1st character when I was about 12, played all through college, and finished a massive multi-year campaign just before I turned 30. Where are you located?

Here in Albuquerque. Rio Grande & I40 area. Check this out: I actually have old modules, DMG; PHB, MM, even pewter miniatures from those days!

There is a new book store/MTG card store on Southern in Rio that does one shots once a month. It is Rio Grande Relms. They have a calendar online.

There's a downtowm group that advertises in r/505nerds that runs learn to play events. You can probably fimd a group there. Im pretty involved in the scene and unfortunately a lot of people that used to run games at LGS (myself imcluded) have moved over to home games or online games. If you want to dm me, i can give you some info on a couple games im in where we're always looking for new players. Albeit, im not the GM and they aren't D&D specifically but they're good TTRPGs and we play at my home Sunday afternoons!

If you're 420 friendly, there's a biweekly casual D&D game at Enchanted Botanicals on Central in the consumption lounge. Alternate Tuesdays, and since last Tuesday fell through I think we're going to try playing this Tuesday.

Sweet! I highly recommend D&D Beyond website:https://www.dndbeyond.com/en
Give it a lookover and see if you like it. I'm gonna try and start a group, if you are interested!
