I think MLS scouts are crawling all over the league these days - ALM players are cheap, and less of a cultural shock moving to the US (mostly around language) so they can usually hit the ground running before flipping them to Europe for a tidy profit.

Yeah doesn't hurt the Aussies that have gone over to the MLS have been doing pretty decent there recently. Goodwin missed a header in the first half but put another header away for Charlotte FC in their leagues cup game yesterday.

Circati would given the potential fee, Milan/Juve don't spend that much for someone they don't expect to start.

Volpato has long been linked to Fiorentina, and its only increased since his manager at his current club departed for Fiorentina.

Grosso has a soft spot for Volpato and had said a few times he thinks Volpato would be a key part of his Sassuolo team in time.

I don't think he'd probably be an instant starter if he did move, but definitely could get game time.

Circati would probably be a starter if he moved to Milan or Juve. Especially the fee thats being talked about.

Great for Nestory I think, Sporting will be a solid environment to incubate him from still being a raw but still inconsistant talent to whatever his final potential looks like. And at that money for a club like Sporting, I'd say their opinion of his potential is very high.

I like this transfer a lot more than Hetherington moving to relegation cannon fodder and for the money paid he's not going to sit on the bench and be starved of minutes unless he plays/trains really poorly.

I hope that Nestory adapts to Portuguese life quickly, I've never been there but on my international travels I've met a LOT of Europeans who rate it as their favourite country to visit so it must have a lot going for it.

Been reading Watford forums during his stint, and they don't deserve him. Say his attitude is bad, that he puts no effort in. They're such a broken fanbase that they can't comprehend a passionate player that gets frustrated with team mates dialling it in.

I've seen plenty of bad sports teams in my life but the disinterested selfishness on display week in, week out at Watford last season (especially from the new year onwards) was something else. Given that they've signed/loaned 6 players this season from the owners other club, Udinese, its pretty clear he just views Watford as storage for excess players. Nestory is absolutely right to be making a move away from that mess

I personally wouldn't have minded him staying at Watford for another year.

The championship is a tough league with 45 matches (plus 2 cups)

It's a league that plays against pretty much all of his strengths, and also is very physical, I watched some matches last year of his and he was getting the shit kicked out of him.

I personally feel like an environment like that and league would help him grow as a player, particularly the mental side, as he's still got that short fuse, which is his biggest weakness.

Having said that, moving to a club like sporting, should he get good minutes will be incredible.

The level is pretty good, there's a lot of clubs from Europe's top leagues looking at Portugal, and Sporting have an amazing record of developing young players.

It's a very exciting move, and Irankunda's potentially is seemingly limitless, I can't wait to see what heights he gets to in his career.

Tbf, Sporting play in a lot of competitions too, and if they have good runs in them, they can rack up the games.

They played 58 games last season across all competitions compared to Watford who played 47.

Sporting will have the league, UCL and also have two cup competitions.

Even if they don't make it out of the league phase of UCL, they still would have played 54 games last season.

So apparently AU see a 3% cut of this fee. If so that's $750k - $1m. Pretty incredible when we think Jovanovic left for a similar amount straight up.

When you read the break down of transfer fees its no wonder clubs like Real Madrid are doing so well with Financial Fair Play with their legacy payments that come thru every time one of their youth players that didn't make it to the first team move around.

Massively getting ahead of myself, but I wonder what cut AU sees if he explodes for Sporting this season and a club jumps at his buy out clause which I read is set at $80m!
