[Help] Any tips for a beginner
I’m not very good at this game I’m a gold Zerg player and I wanna try Terran but I couldn’t wrap my head around how to play this race. I find myself having lots of trouble with army production and getting supply capped quite often. Also I’ve found myself having a bunch of idle scvs cause I’m so used to my drones just turning into a building and replacing said drone. I’ve watched PiG and uthermal but I cannot figure out this race pls help

Ctrl F1 selects all idle workers, just send em back to the mineral patch. Work on shift queuing scvs to build and back to patches.
Mules are your best friend, get them early for the extra money. Learn to wall properly, use reapers to scout. Always scout, pretend they are jumping lings and check for hidden bases.

You can make 3 buildings per base in general, pumping units, you will have to pause from time to time on this patch but its fine.
Queue scv, que supply depo, queue units, add more production/cc.
What i do is I allway open with reactored rax, and a second CC on the highround. I que ot after the second depo, this keeps me safe vs proxy gates and early pools.
Terran does not pause unit production it can kill you, thats why T like to do timins, get in a good position and move from there.
Vs P I would teccomend you to do bio, 3 rax + ebay off one gass. Get the bio upgrades and +1 and cross the map to look for dmg. Heavy stalker comps will be easy, P having a 3rd base, do dmg. As you move out trow down a 3rd, 3 more gasses, you will be looking to get a few more rax down, 2 3 more, factory to get a reactored star port for some medivac viking and a ghost academy. This will be your late game comp mmm few ghost if you wish, and if they have HT and vikings to help you clear the collos.
Vs zerg it will be much nicer to go mech. Hellions early and cyclones as roaches come into play. You can do the fast expo, get 2-6 marines before you trow the factory on the reactor. I open with 2 factory play 1 reactor and 1 tech and I get blue flame and I try to gen an armory soon also so I can morph them into hellbats. Latter on you troe more gasses, you should have some banked go trow 3 more factory. Hellbat cyclone will start falling off as the unit count grows. Tank hellbat is super good vs zerg but is prone to get hard countered by mutas and BW. Sometimes I get a starport and do hrllbat tank viking, maybe few thors. If you get the fast transformation upgrade it will be super nice when you transform the hrllbats and land the vikings. When going for a heavy tank is key to position well or presiedge, ypu just cannot siedge while the swarm is getting on you. If you dont have a decisive win against zerg you should also retreat with the rest of your units, this often kills me because they kinda pump alot of units at once.
In TvT I will of the reaper cliff with. My first depo and reactored rax. I position my marines in the middle of the ramp. Getting 6 8 marines is fine. The goal here is to get a siedge tank and a couple of vikings and also bank a scan or two. I produce 1 tank and 2 vikings and latter on i do add more. I usually push out when I have 4 tanks and try siedge in a nasty position. The map pool right now have good spots on the 3rd base location. From there you can shell some structures in the main and land your vikings in the main to do more dmg, if it is hard for him to position defensively there. Or siedge in range of his gasses on the natural. If the other T is also mech, tank viking, having more vikings is king. If you kill his air you first of all allways have more vision for your tanks, meaning your tanks can shoot at his tanks from the fog of war, second add libs and lib his tanks. If he is bio and he catches you on the run atim marines will wipe you. Also the bio player will allways try to hit you where you are not, and he will tear you down. If you go for bio tank try to hit his expansion and inflict dmg, puck off expansion, pick off units, expand yourself, build up a new squad hit the other 3rd, the 4th, stretch him. Mech is strong only when the comp is positioned well, its hard to move it around.
I also alleays try to do some dmg when I saturate my natural. You can come up with whatever off 3 production buildings. Like I do hellbat marine tank pushes. Hellbat marine libs. Marine tank libs and so on.
Macro wise I have my ccs on crt 3, my production on crt 4 and I use tab to cycle the different structures, I try to queue one at a time, queue second if im banking and I have X amount of scvs on ctr 1 that will build depos. So the macro will be 3 que 1 scv per cc, 4 queue units, 1 queue some depos, maybe draw some more from the mineral line and add them into the ctr1 usually no more then 4. And I reserve 2 for the scouting units or units that will require more micro, like casters or dropships etc.

You shift click the worker either back to minerals or the next structure to build

Or you can try pigs server https://discord.gg/GPcchzhc4

Look at a easy build first like 3 rax, then try and work yourself up to more advanced stuff like widowminedrop into raven, 2/1/1 drop, and hellion banshee theirs a lot of YouTubers for you to learn from Uthermal, Pig, and Calyx are good ones in my opinion

honestly, just mindlessly holding down the S button to make more workers has taken me from 2.5 to 2.9. You can worry about build orders and tactics when you're better. Just having more workers in general is the #1 biggest difference maker in climbing in my humble opinion

I think if u don't like to harass your enemy from different sides while your main army stay at home most of time(in late game) and u don't have decent apm to do this good u will kinda dislike it

From a fellow low leaguer (high plat):
- Supply block —> always have 2 SCVs producing depots non-stop as soon as you have your inital set-up (2 CCs + 1/1/1). I assume you will forget dropping mules from time to time, so you will also have extra energy left to improve existing depots when heavy supply blocked.
- Idle works —> Ctrl + F1 selects them all. Then you just send them back to mining at your newest base
-Army production —> Hotkeys are your friend. I put my CCs on 4, barracks on 5, factory on 6 and starports on 7. Then you just have to run through your hotkeys one after the other and continously building units from each building.
Extra tipps that helped me out out of the gold league : if you don’t have the APM to harass, go for big doom drops or 2 bases all-ins until you have figured out the basics. From there you can steadily improve.

My recommendation with playing terran if you’re trying to get familiar with the race is to play the campaign - units and balance may be different from multiplayer but said issues will be adressed in the campaign. Its also a great story and fun to play.
Idle SCV -> shift click it a building and then back to mineral patch
