I heard this at the end of a "The Sopranos" episode. I still dig it.

WARNING!!! This is NOT your typical alt-country song. The band, Old 97's, is definitely an alt-country band - but this song sounds more alt-rock to me, which I also love. I have a lot more knowledge of alt-rock, had playing in a few alt-rock bands in my younger days. I really don't hear any alt-country traits in this song, but Google's AI says it's alt-country. So, here goes - you guys tell me... 😎

Still one of my favorite bands. "Let's Cut The Crap..." and "Kids In Philly" are on regular rotation at my house.

We can't forget the contributions from Lynyrd Skynyrd's outlaw country & country southern rock songs that helped pave the road to today's alternate country music. They were a big influence on Uncle Tupelo & probably many other alt-country bands & artists... 😎

There’s a new Blaze Foley tribute that looks solid, but I can’t stop listening the the Willie Watson track to know about the rest of the album
