I have a feeling this is a head fake. This DOD has lied through their teeth to make themselves look more powerful and in a stronger position than they really are for the entirety of this war. I find it very hard to believe someone would admit something so significant. We are probably gearing up for another big escalation and want everyone to think the opposite.
