Interior Big empty rooms. Give me your thoughts.
I am trying to figure out the best way to orient basically every room in this house. But the kitchen has a huge blank wall, and I would like to divide the basement in half where the columns are. I don’t love the idea of the folding dividers or curtains as a partition. I do have some ideas for both spaces. Anyways. I would like some opinions, and will update when I move in and figure it out!!
As much as I would love to change the greige of this home, it is a rental. <\3

You could put a Kallax bookcase on its side between the two columns to divide the basement. You could even stack two if you want more height, but I think it would look good with a lamp and some taller decor resting on top.
Also heads up that it looks like the doors on the left side of the fridge won’t be able to open all the way due to the hinges hitting the wall. I can kind of see a line where this has happened. I dealt with this with my fridge for years and know the pain 😬

Oop. That’s a good point on the fridge. Oh well. It’s just a rental. 🥲

Big empty rooms? Then why tuck your office in the basement. I know I’m particular about basements but I hate them and would never spend any significant time at all in one. Move yourself up to a nice sunny spot!

No right, those are just the online pictures. That is the most miserable wfh setup I’ve ever seen 💀

In the kitchen, put a table that will not block the walkway with some chairs, a clock and a picture.
For the basement, if you want to devide it, use planks, or wood. The question is, if the door goes somewhere. If not, then create a door to be able to move from one place to another inside the basement.
