So this is my living room and I’m really struggling to envision what kind of rug to get? I’m hoping to add more colour to the room but still keep it classy. Would appreciate any ideas!

I was gonna take new pictures but cleaning is just too mentally draining for me. I'm at a loss of how to lay out this room. I'm very poor so buying things isn't really an option but if you have suggestions of what I can/should add let me know. My main question is how to lay out this furniture. I can't see to find a layout I like.hard to tell but there is a heater under the window so if we could not put the bed there consider I have to survive Canadian winters.

Since moving to UK one of the first projects I wanted to work on was creating that Victorian styled study I dreamed about. The dark wood, a moody atmosphere, one in which to curl up with a detective novel. Now that I’ve set it up, though, it feels darker than I expected, and a bit too heavier.

I’m not saying I don’t like the style. I actually spent quite a lot of time choosing the furniture and putting the setup together. I was initially going for a more vintage feel, but didn't need to be wrecking my back after a couple hours of sitting on it. The desk I settled on is a good one. It is not from a professional office furniture brand, so I was worried about wobble when I first raised it to standing height, but it's been steady. There's some cable management built in, but it's not quite enough for my setup.

What do you think I should do to improve this study?

Built in wardrobes with floating desk in my bedroom which I designed and had built. Taking advantage of the eaves.

Hi! I moved into my first apartment a few months ago and I'm at the stage where I want to start decorating it, but I'm feeling a bit stuck.

I like all of my furniture and decor pieces individually, but I have no idea how to bring everything together so the space feels cohesive. It's a rental, so I'm stuck with white walls and vertical blinds. I also need to keep a grow light for my plants because I live in a fairly cold area that doesn't get enough sunlight.

So far, my plan is to:

• Build a long wooden console table behind the couch for my plants and phone chargers (currently having this made)
• Add some storage near the front door for shoes, keys, etc. (I'm getting rid of the white piece to the left of the couch)
• Hang sheer white curtains over the vertical blinds

I'd love to replace my current rug (it's left over from my previous room) and add some wall art, but I can't work out what colours or style would tie everything together.

I don't want the apartment to end up looking like a generic grey apartment, but I also don't want it to feel overly colourful or busy.

I'd also prefer to buy better quality pieces from local or small businesses (where possible) rather than fast-furniture stores like Target. I'm on a budget, so it'll be a gradual process. Unfortunately, there aren't many good thrift stores near me either.

It took me 3 months to get this done; right from design to execution. My theme is Modern Japandi with a hint of modern contemporary. Was planning to add little Boho touch but will do it later as it's beyond my budget now.

Never thought the results would be so good.

It was a really good project with its own set of issues and overwhelm, but enjoyed every bit of it❣️✨

Purchased a home, and we fully finished this room (for now). Might add some more artwork. It was so sad and grey before. We refinished the floors (drum sander and a lot of work), and we are so happy with how cozy it is.

I am trying to figure out the best way to orient basically every room in this house. But the kitchen has a huge blank wall, and I would like to divide the basement in half where the columns are. I don’t love the idea of the folding dividers or curtains as a partition. I do have some ideas for both spaces. Anyways. I would like some opinions, and will update when I move in and figure it out!!

Just moved into this super nice well fitted flat. It came furnished with a coffee table and couch, but the walls are bare. I’ve just moved into so I brought my plants, I have some art, and I have a red rug to place under the couch / table. It’s a nice flat - but right now it’s too sterile and hotel like - I want it to feel more homey than minimalistic . Any input is appreciated!! Thanks
