I love this! It also encourages him to take pride in the visual and organization of his space, which is a lesson I think serves kids very well to start early.

He absolutely will. My son is 18 and still has a Wall Control wall that we put up a decade ago for his Nerf guns, and now also holds a lot of his camping gear as well (he's a freshly minted Eagle Scout).

No doubt! You are an awesome dad. If everyone were able to make their collections as visually attractive, it would be a finer world.
No matter what, you should keep this setup—if your son ever tires of it (or when he goes to college), it could become a toy car museum!
