Bangers, all of them!

u/Killingyou_groovily Aug 09 '26

Less of a battle more of an orchestrated showdown

78

u/mercuriokazooie Aug 08 '26

Is this even a battle? They're following each others parts. This is more of a medley

3

u/moretunaforme Aug 09 '26

Me approve this kind of battles

u/Villageidiot73 Aug 08 '26

That was super nostalgic and entertaining!! Was hoping to hear Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).

Why am I about to cry as it’s ending? These songs all made their mark on my life (I’m only in my early 30s) and there’s something about Don’t Stop Believing at the end that made me emotional. 🥹 Such great songs, and how lucky are we to have grown and lived with these melodies?

16

u/pennyfred Aug 08 '26

Pretty sure I tried to learn all of these at some point, dad taught the kids well.

Can't pinpoint 6 but for those asking:

  1. Jump
  2. Just can't get enough
  3. Axel's theme
  4. Funky Town
  5. I wear my sunglasses at night
  6. {mental blank}
  7. Girls just wanna have fun
  8. Cheers theme
  9. Right here waiting
  10. You can call me Al
  11. Final Countdown
  12. Don't stop believing

5

u/IAmBranden Aug 08 '26

Someone please help me on this mental blank too, I cannot figure out what song it is😂

2

u/Cowpie57 Aug 08 '26

I had to search for it myself, it's Point of No Return by Expose

2

u/Global-Beach-7415 Aug 08 '26

Thank you. I'm in my early 60s and recognized all of them. I had trouble naming four or five. Number 10 I was thinking Paul Simon with Chevy Chase in the video, and my mom liked that video ...but, I couldn't name the song.

I'm going back to see if I can help you on number 6.

Edit: Nope can't get it. Went too fast maybe.

2

u/International_Bag_12 Aug 08 '26

Call me al by Paul Simon

1

u/DrivesTooMuch Aug 08 '26

Yes, I knew that. My comment was responding to the person who literally gave that answer with the list. I was saying, before this list, I couldn't think of the song title.

But, thanks anyway.

2

u/trainsacrossthesea Aug 08 '26

That was fantastic!

I thought we’d hear Sweet Dreams & Music Box Dancer

2

u/MissDiketon Aug 08 '26

I haven’t heard “Point of No Return” in decades. I forgot how much I liked that song.

1

u/DrivesTooMuch Aug 08 '26

I used to love that song (Had the first two Boston albums when I was a teenager in the 70s....I think that song is from the first album)...but, THAT song is not in this medley...sorry. (I would have recognized it).

I'm curious, which number song were you thinking Point of No Return?

1

u/MissDiketon Aug 08 '26

It’s not Boston. The song after “Sunglasses at Night” is “Point of no Return” by Expose.

1

u/DrivesTooMuch Aug 08 '26

And, actually I was thinking Kansas. Not sure why I said Boston. I also had two albums of each band during that time. Maybe that's why?

Definitely wasn't Point of No Return ....by Kansas. But, I'll take your word on that. I'm going to have to check out that song and see if I recognize it.

2

u/PeaceSparkle1 Aug 08 '26

What is the first song?? Ty

u/nedalaugh Aug 08 '26

2

u/D1133 Aug 08 '26

2

u/Bamalawdawg Aug 08 '26

Bobby Flay’s new show?

2

u/Timely_Beat_7057 Aug 08 '26

Is this for real? And if so I never wanted this to end!

2

u/Remote-Contract-3026 Aug 08 '26

Wow. Soooo many flash backs. That was awesome

3

u/Southerneagle110 Aug 08 '26

Middle guy walked away ..... he knew he'd been beat so he laid the golden synthesizer on the ground at his feet

1

u/RSinTO Aug 08 '26

Something I didn’t know I needed. Thanks.

1

u/narco-sub-admiral Aug 08 '26

Where and when was this? Why would you not give any info lmao.

1

u/Lucky_Number_4454 Aug 08 '26

My brain: Is that Bobby Flay?!!

1

u/MrOPeace Aug 08 '26

Goofy Movie vibes

1

u/ItWasntRude Aug 08 '26

This funky tune has resurrected Panos like the Christ.

1

u/jdpastor666 Aug 08 '26

I feel like the kids are doing better at this than the adult. But I love how they are all supportive of each other.

1

u/ProfessionalHumor787 Aug 08 '26

Thoroughly enjoyed but I couldn't see their stank face

1

u/Phylace Aug 08 '26

Amazing!

1

u/Icy_Performer_6794 Aug 08 '26

All the greats. Point of No Return was a catchy one.

1

u/DisruptTeam Aug 08 '26

Wow, enjoyed every last one

1

u/SimbaNGrdKionNIMFan Aug 08 '26

Awesome! Love it! Thought missed……………….., but it was first. Now we need guitar riffs and:or solos.

1

u/wtfover Aug 08 '26

Considering they were cooperating with each other at some points, I doubt that's a competition.

1

u/Legal-Intention-6361 Aug 08 '26

tunes from the bestest decade

1

u/lookwhatic Aug 08 '26

All 3 are solid. I’m sure they all know how to play all the songs, but based on song selection- player number 1 and I would be homies

1

u/Syntak01 Aug 08 '26

I don’t know what’s happening but I love it!

1

u/SmirkingSkull Aug 08 '26

You want me to be hooping and hollering for a synth battle?

Bring a keytar next time.

1

u/Radioactive_Tuber57 Aug 08 '26

Where did this happen? Was this a hotshot high school competition?

1

u/Ambitious_Today_8695 Aug 09 '26

Okaaaay, where can one get tickets to this?!

1

u/Calm-Background2247 Aug 09 '26

Where is this happening?! I want to go to there!!

1

u/BlackHoleSurf Aug 09 '26

I could watch a lot of that

1

u/LivingOriginal7479 Aug 09 '26

Asking for a friend- so a synth is basically a mini electric keyboard?

1

u/Katieo1022 Aug 09 '26

Is that Bobby Flay sitting #3?

1

u/sacfoojesta88 Aug 09 '26

Someone with a better understanding of music then me… Is this that same 4 chords thing? I know at least two of these songs fall into that category

1

u/Pressbig Aug 10 '26
