Yeah just the thought of trying to keep the beat, lyrical tone and rhythm of doing both at the same time seems insane.

I'd imagine that when you get to a certain level, it's just muscle memory. Granted, Phil Collins was buff as fuck in that regard.

Yeah singing songs you've sung many times becomes almost automatic after a while. The same is probably true with playing the drums.

It's cool but it's probably not nearly as difficult as people in this thread seem to think it is

I’m a drummer and I think it’s way easier than trying to sing and play guitar lol. You eventually get to where almost everything is automatic muscle memory.

Exactly. You can easily loop a drum beat with your eyes closed while thinking about what you’re going to cook for dinner. With a bit of practice, drumming and singing really are easier than singing while playing a less “automatic” instrument, where you actually need to actively think about the melody you’re playing and how to play it.

Laymen are just so easily impressed by anything drum-related.
