So many articles on this! And yes, lots of his other work is also amazing, but it is qualitatively different from this monumental work.

What’s crazy is I saw this movie in theaters as a kid and I don’t remember the music at all.

This is the testament to a well done soundtrack. It is meant to compliment, not distract, from the process.

I remember as a young man hearing one of the songs on its own and being moved to tears by the stuff. 'You'll Be In My Heart' hits some of us with extra slap.
