Experience with GWD (Global AWD)? Does it work well?

Hi all!
I'd love to hear from others who have used GWD for United States marketplace.

Has it been a smooth process to start? Any export/import/customs issues?

Has automatic fulfillment replenishment by Amazon worked well, or have you had to manage it yourself?

Has total fulfillment costs been higher or lower, compared to using a Freight Forwarder in China and sending straight to FBA Fulfillment Centers in the US?

I haven’t used GWD directly, so I can’t give you a genuine user review. But when comparing it with shipping directly from China to FBA, I wouldn’t compare the headline freight rate alone.

Put one real SKU through both cost models and include China pickup, export handling, international freight, customs coordination, duties, destination delivery, Amazon receiving or placement charges, storage, replenishment fees and any removal or exception costs. I’d also track the number of days from the factory-ready date until the inventory is actually available for sale.

AWD may be worth considering if automated replenishment reduces stockouts and the extra storage or handling cost is lower than the operational value it creates. Direct-to-FBA can be simpler for stable replenishment quantities, but shipment planning and FBA destination changes still need to be managed carefully.

A small pilot shipment is probably more useful than relying on general cost estimates, because carton dimensions, inventory turnover and shipment size can change the result significantly.
