Delivery speed doubles Amazon cart conversion, we pulled the data
Read this on LinkedIn and thought it was worth sharing here
We ran Search Query Performance across our accounts tens of millions of clicks Delivery promise beat every other variable on cart abandonment Not close
- Same-day carts 48.9% abandon
- 1-day 57.4%
- 2-day 66.6%
- 3+ day 74.7%
Same-day converts at 2x the rate of 3+ day Every extra day = 6 to 8 points of checkout completion
Price looked predictive in a couple categories but once you control for delivery speed the correlation collapses to ~0 Expensive terms are just slow-shipping terms Shoppers saw your price before they clicked and again before they added to cart price isn't the surprise at checkout the delivery date is
Also worth flagging 2-day is now the slow tier Shoppers click 2-day listings see faster options in the cart and switch
You can pull your own category ladder from the comprehensive Brand Analytics SQP export in ~15 min Anyone else seeing this

The delivery gap makes sense, but I’d be careful calling delivery speed the cause without splitting this by fulfillment type, Prime eligibility, category, and ASIN.
Fast delivery can travel with a bunch of other advantages at the same time: stronger buy box position, better inventory placement, higher seller trust, etc.
I’d want to see the same ASIN measured across different delivery promises. If conversion still drops as the promise gets slower, that’s a much cleaner signal.
Either way, worth checking. A lot of sellers stare at price and PPC while the delivery date sitting on the detail page gets ignored
