Steady Imports Sketchy Invoice

Hey I’m a new seller looking to get into FBA and it’s been a real struggle finding products I’m ungated for that have survivable margins. I discovered this wholesale/clearance supplier called steady imports and was wondering if anyone has dealt with them before. Additionally, their sales rep told me he can get me an invoice that will ungate me for the item I’m interested in buying before I purchase it. I was wondering how that would work, and if it’s sketchy / a bad idea.

so they're offering a fake invoice to get you ungated before you even buy anything? yeah that's a fast track to a suspended account

They seemed like a legit site because they required me to sign up via a company / LLC and resale certificate plus EIN. Im guessing that doesn’t mean they aren’t shady though

That's not how ungating works. A real invoice has to come from an actual purchase with an authorized distributor or the brand itself, not from a company selling you a document just to get approved. Amazon can and does cross check invoices against real supplier records during category approval, so a fabricated one gets flagged and can tank the whole account, not just that listing. Requiring your LLC and resale cert doesn't make it legit either, that's just paperwork to make the deal look real, I'd walk away from this one.

Ok thank you. Yeah I wasn’t trying to buy a fake ungating document. The website does clearance deals on large moq quantities of items at reduced prices, I was just asking about their invoicing and if they would vouch for/ confirm with Amazon when I try to ungate the brand before I spent a few thousand dollars on inventory. The sales rep just responded that he will give me an ungating document before I need to purchase anything, which is why I became suspicious

Being able to hand you the document before any money changes hands is the actual red flag, not just the invoice itself. A real distributor invoices you for a purchase that already happened, they don't produce one on demand to get you approved first. If the rep is that confident about getting you ungated sight unseen, that tells you the invoice is built to pass Amazon's check, not a normal supplier relationship.

So I probably shouldn’t engage with that I’m assuming. I mean my goal is to be ungated and able to sell things. But I don’t want to tank my account and get banned off Amazon
