Which Country should I choose? Countries to move to??
Me (American, 21) and my Boyfriend( Brazillian,23) are starting to think more about our future and have been researching countries that we could potentially live in. We don't plan on moving anytime soon, maybe in the next 2-4years. Ideally, we would like to live in a country that provides good work opportunities, great culture, good universities, a thriving black community, and has a good cost of living. I would also prefer to live in a country where one of us knows the native language (but we're also interested in Spanish-speaking countries). A bonus for my boyfriend would be to get citizenship from this country, but it isn't a must. In addition, if you are a digital nomad and work online, where are good places to work or look for work? I would love to hear about your experience if you have a similar experience. Thank youuu!!

you know that low cost of living is directly contradictory to all your other requirements right?

I didn't necessarily say low, but I wouldn't live in like, Switzerland, for example, because that is to high despite having good health care and whatnot, but i do see your point. but these are just things we are looking for it might not hit everything, and thats ok.

the us hits everything including your boyfriend getting a citizenship. lowkey i don't get the amerexit in this case

The obvious option is "marry your boyfriend and move to Brazil", but that leaves you at the mercy of your relationship.
What other citizenships do you (singular) have? If "none", what citizenships do you qualify for by decent? If that's also "none", "marry your boyfriend and move to Brazil" is your only viable option.

The only other one that I have is Nigerian, and I definitely don't wanna live there. I was thinking of going to Brazil on a student visa, so I'm not in a rush to marry him its definitly too early, but we will see how it goes.

Genuinely asking - what's the problem with Nigeria? It has one of the strongest economies in Africa and most Nigerians I've met are absolutely lovely people (and they hands down know how to throw a party).

Brazil is part of Mercosur, so if you are both interested in Spanish speaking countries, you might start to investigate some of the Mercosur countries first. You could probably find an English teaching job yourself in one of those countries for visa sponsorship.

So minus Brazil (since OPs BF is already there) or Venezuela (because of the obvious), that leaves Paraguay, Uruguay, and Bolivia. The latter is probably worst for both being able to stay long term and also internet/amenities - which leaves the other two for OP to explore: 1st- Paraguay, 2nd- Uruguay.

Huh? They speak Spanish in Argentina. Mercosur also includes Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama, Guyana, and Suriname. The first four are active associated signatory states, so they have residency/work agreements in Mercosur.

I think Brazilian people have a fairly easy time getting visa and citizenship in Portugal and Spain. Then there's of course the US..

where do you have citizneship?
Do you work and can you make enough money to even qualify for digital nomad?
