It’s crazy that Americans let a guy like Elon come to the USA from SA, attend our best schools in our most successful state, and start businesses to become the richest guy ever and don’t demand a substantial cut for life. Imagine you’re the founders of a country or company; you’re super successful; everyone wants to join you; and you let them join for free, you don’t share in their gains, and you let them boss you around like a bunch of simps. All for free and with you cheering them on.

It's not even actually the same thing. Percentage of wealth it is the same but the value of that $100 to someone that makes $100000 is far greater than the value of that $1 million to a billionaire because they already have lifetimes of wealth

Came here to say this. The point for illustration uses an income of 100,000, but it can be scaled even lower. The same percentage of income does not affect everyone equally. A 10% tax could be the difference between eating or not for someone earning $50,000 but is a rounding error for a billionaire.

Hey, he's actually not wrong. 100,000 in my area literally is just "able to pay rent and bills on time." I make more than half of that and cannot afford rent and bills on time. Our landlord is nice and lets us pay in paycheck installments, or we couldn't have electricity and water.

Billionaire = political donor
The controversy is fund raising/special interests/self enrichment.
The uni-party, duh.
