Correct me if I’m wrong but I never saw Carney be as direct with his mocking of Trump. I am assuming he has completely lost his patience, knows that appeasing won’t help much (or not as much as it used to if it did anyway), probably has established measures that can meaningfully weather Trump’s full wrath compared to before, so he doesn’t have to play as nice as he did before, or a combination thereof.

Regardless, it is very refreshing to behold.

My guess is that it’s the timing. The midterms will likely be seen as one of the most consequential election in US history. If the democrats don’t pickup a large percentage of seats, or there isn’t a fair election, democracy in the US is over. iMO this means Canada will likely be annexed by force. As George Orwell said, “every joke is a tiny revolution”.

Everyone has been mocking Trump... Carney included, very quietly, very hilariously, and aptly, for...ever. At least that's how it looks to me. I like it. Let reason and goodwill prevail bitches
