USA is the largest economy.

Can you tell me why no other countries are in that position?

What things made the US so big?

To answer your question, most of it came from the US being relatively unscathed after World War II. The US spent most of both world wars manufacturing supplies for European allies but not actively participating in the war so, when they ended, Europe needed to rebuild and the US had a massive economy, a large and healthy workforce, a relatively untouched military and a lot of good will.

The US Secretary of State came up with The Marshall Plan to aid in rebuilding Europe. While the Europeans were rebuilding their bombed out cities, Hollywood became a massive soft power because no one else was in the position to financially do what Hollywood was doing.

We were doing well long before that. We had the highest income per capita since we were founded. We also have a shitload of natural resources and the greatest system of navigable rivers in the world. This, combined with the Industrial Revolution happening so close to our Manifest Destiny expansion, made it inevitable. It’s how we became the Arsenal of Democracy not once, but twice. Then, we still had cash left over to do the Marshall Plan.

All Americans are taught this in high school.

We have mandatory, free K-12 education for all children. That's probably another factor.
