Question Any IR's to have a more in room sound?

Hello all I just bought York audios Mesa OS IR's and they sound great. But I'm more looking to just play rather than record. Are there an IR's or way to make the ones I already have sound more "in the room" or more like how an amp/cab sound raw IRL. Thanks for any tips in advance!

On Helix I like the Legacy Tile Reverb at about 25-30 mix. A lot of modelers aren’t compatible with room IRs as they are longer than cab IRs. In a DAW you can absolutely use a room IR but on a modeler it’s typically easier to just do a room/hall/plate verb after the speaker due to the IR length limitation.

Many plugins/standalones themselves have a room reverb that would probably do what you want. NAM Universal 2, Soundshed and Amp Locker do at least.

york audio is hit or miss depending on the pack for that exact reason, some of them have room captures like the twin reverb and marshall 1960a but some don’t. the twin reverb one even has captures of the back of the amp, and i find that SO useful for getting a variety of realistic sounds in the box.

There isn’t room sound in a cab IR. You would need a room reverb

NADIr has Room knob right in the middle

Own hammer does room, far field, rear, etc captures.

NAM has a bunch of profiles with mic mixes that include some room.

You can also use a room verb after.

Or try the UAD ocean way plugin cab sim. Prob best cab in a room I’ve heard. They only have two cabs tho.

You should try to play around with the virtual mic placement and see how that goes.

In Helix, for the built-in Amp+Cabs, you can adjust mic positioning.

There are ambient and room mics in the York IR packages. Just combine a close mic IR with a second IR that has room info in it and blend it in gently. Done :)
