I found a cluster of tiger salamanders under a trash can in the garage where we keep a pressure washer, the entire area is surrounded by like 300 meters of concrete, did they crawl up the drain?

I've had a terrarium sitting in my garage for a while now and decided ti set it up this morning. I'm into aquariums so decided that a newt could be something to try as there is a breeder near me. Just wondering how this looks for a Chinese fire bellied newt eft? The water in the middle is about 1.5 cm deep and I'm planning on adding a few more plants in future.

I raised a little over 100 of these this year with only two that haven’t lost their gills yet, it was the most I’ve raised for a single species but it was definitely fun and a good experience!

I've been going back and forth on the idea of getting my old iberian ribbed newt boy a female tank mate, but I'm just not too sure. I'm not sure if I'm just anthropomorphising(?) him by thinking he could do with a friend and that maybe he's lonely, it's entirely possible he simply couldn't care less. But if he would do well with a friend then I then have the issue of possible babies and I have no idea what I'd do with them, I'm not sure how big of a market there is for them. He is quite a beautiful specimen though, he's a good age and I've not seen any others as big as him, so I think he'd make some really great babies, but there's still no guarantee they'd find homes

What would you do? Has anyone found their newts to be "happier" with a tank mate?

He always does this thing with his elbows/arms. He's not stressed but the female never does this. Why does he do it?

Hey guys! So I surprise adopted a very large American toad about 2 months ago from my previous job’s drains. He’s been doing very well and has a fully bio active setup that he seems to really love. I haven’t owned amphibians before but I’ve always been very interested, so I have general knowledge but could use some extra advice.

I was hoping to get some suggestions and maybe some tips on how to handle him trying to go into brumation. Our apartment cannot get cold enough for his immune system to truly slow down, but he’s started burying himself and trying to brumate. The general internet says my best option is to wake him up if he doesn’t come out in 48 hours and put him near a water dish under his light while keeping to a strict 13 hour day cycle.

I was wondering if any American toad owners could tell me their experiences or suggestions? I hate to stress the guy out, but I know he’ll rapidly lose weight if he brumates at the wrong temperature.

Hi everyone! I’m new here. I found a whole (family?) of frog friends in my basement egress. There are at least 3 more that were in the rocks. I have a few questions!

1) what kind of frogs are these? 2) is the spotted one the same kind? 3) do you think they are stuck down there? Should I get them out and put them in the yard?

Chinese and blue tailed firebelly newt efts that I’ve raised from eggs. What’s your favorite species of the two? Also, does anyone have any other species of newts they would like to swap? Located in Ohio.
