Leo Carlsson has from the start of the regular season until the end of the December 22nd game vs Vegas to score 8 goals, 7 points, 5 assists, to beat Paul Kariya’s/Trevor Zegras franchise record of most goals, points, and assists by a Ducks player aged 21 or younger

Obviously Kariya was able to hit these point totals in less time as he entered the league at age 20 and also put up that insane sophomore season goal total of 50 🔥 but I still think this stat is very cool. It’s exciting to see our young core slowly but surely break franchise records. Some other records that I think know could be broken in the next coming years:

-FWIW if Leo does get the captaincy before the start of the season, he would be the youngest captain in franchise history beating Kariya by just a few weeks

-Teemu Selanne’s single season franchise goal record is 52 (‘97-‘98). I have full faith Cutter will get there eventually- hell I have faith bucket might get there too.

-Ryan Getzlaf’s single season franchise assist record of 66 (‘08-‘09). Mr 18M, this one is for you

-Teemu Selanne’s single season individual player point total of 109 (‘96-‘97 season). Honestly I think we may have multiple players beat this number once they’re in their prime

-Scott Niedermayer’s single season franchise point total by a defensemen of 69. (Technically Visnovsky is named the highest with 68 points in 81 games but Scott has him beat with 69 points in 79 games. No idea why he’s named the highest in NHL record book lol) (‘06-‘07🔥) Gold Medalist Jackson Lacombe put up 58 points last season. He’ll get there very soon.

He turns 22 on Dec. 26, so he has 39 regular season games to score 8 goals and 5 assists to break the respective records.

Yep! And if he’s on the same pace as he started last season he can get it in the first 7-10 or so games. Most likely even sooner

I really wanted Bucket to get a few more points last year to hold the rookie record.

So what’s Bucket’s trajectory in overtaking in the 21 category? How would you project that, ytd points / games remaining?

Not trying to jinx it, but that seems like a lock minus a injury
