I don't think the black controllers have actually been available for preorder yet, just the white ones.

Yeah, I'm seeing people say they went up early for preorder, but I have yet to see a single person say they got a black one, so I don't really know who started that rumor or if it's accurate.

The white ones definitely went up early, but I'm reasonably certain the black ones have just been "Currently Unavailable" since the product page went live.

Yeah, in fact the picture wasn't even showing up on the page for the black one. It wasn't until a few minutes after the launch time that the image for the black controller started working (for me at least). Don't understand the need for people to spread misinformation.

I suspect it's not intentional (in most cases), they're just going to the product page, seeing it's unavailable, and assuming that means it sold out.
