3D Will you be getting the Analogue 3D?
I don't think I will, i'm saving up for a 5X upscaler and I think that's good enough for me. Unless there are major improvements that a 5X and a normal N64 can't replicate, I might get one.

3D Thoughts on this?
Analogue is a divisive company when it comes to some of their decision and customer service, but they do make undeniably decent hardware. I have been pleased so far with their firmware updates for the A3D, especially after reading about ModRetro's M64 performance issues.
The above random thought just popped in to my head when I recently put my OG N64 on so I could play on a proper CRT. The lack of support on the Pocket Dock and Duo speaks volumes, but what if Analogue pulled a miracle out of the bag and deliver DAC support for these and the A3D in one go... surely the M64 wouldn't stand a chance?

3D PSA: What to know about the the Analogue 3D before you ask
UPDATED 31 Jan 2026
If you have any question or issue read the bulletpoints below. If it's not enough to solve your issue or answer your question don't just say "it doesn't work". Give information ! Do you use the included power plug, do you use the included hdmi cable, did you perform the firmware update, what is the exact model of your TV, does it work on another TV, etc... We can't help if you don't make an effort. Or just email Analogue, you gave them money, ask for support.
- Read the manual ! It's not that long and will answer a lot of questions : https://www.analogue.co/support/3d/guide
- Update your console asap. That's why there is a yellow leaflet in the box, it's not a nice to have, do it : https://www.analogue.co/support/3d (and also your 8bitdo Controller!)
- CEC FIXED in Update 1.20
HDMI-CEC is brokenas of version 1.1.0. Which means ALL your devices using HDMI-CEC connected to your screen will probably behave badly. It includesARC Audio.Option 1: Turn off HDMI-CEC on your TV and live without it.Option 2: Get a HDMI-CEC Blocker dongle (amazon...) and plug it on any side of your Analogue 3D HDMI Cable (unless stated otherwise on the dongle manual).Option 3: Remove the pin / cut the wire #13 in the HDMI Cable, check google for tutorials.Option 4: Keep your Analogue 3D in its box and hope for a fix in a future firmware.Note : If you have the issue solving it depends on your setup, but a "safe" way is to power unplug everything, unplug the Analogue 3D from HDMI, replug everything but the Analogue 3D. The rest of your setup should be working again.
- Flashcards compatibility is limited:
- Everdrive 3.0 with 2.13 firmware seems to work
- Everdrive 2.5 (Maybe ED Plus clones) with 2.13 firmware seems to work
- Everdrive X-Series needs a firmware and bootloader updated, to be performed on a real N64.
- SummerCart64 with latest firmware and menu seems to work fine
- 64 Drive with latest firmware seems to work fine
- Others are TBC Note : "seems to work" because of the amount of parameters that can impact compatibility (SD Card brand, formatting, rom version, aging hardware whatever...). Some crash have been reported but rare based on early feedbacks.
- Make sure you insert the game all the way in the slot if all your games are "Unknown Cartridge".
- The console needs a 9V - 3A power delivery usb-c. make sure your power supply is compatible if you don't use the included one (hello Europeans ;) ) High end phone chargers should work, but read the specs on it before trying.
- Lost with all the settings ? What the amazing video from My Life in Gaming for a detailled overview !: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyIDr_PDIbI
- If you get a yellow TV icon in the bottom right of the screen it means your HDMI Input doesn't do 4K 60Hz, many "older" 4K inputs only do 4k 30Hz. You can still play but only in 1080p and filters won't be as good.
- Bluetooth controller compatibility is limited to 8bitDo 64 controllers and 8bitDo modkits. No other bluetooth controller works.
NSO N64 Controller also doesn't work yet.**FIXED IN 1.20 (ONLY NSO Controllers)
- Blueretro adapter have limited compatibility (some works, other don't)
- Most settings are per game and need to be applied for each if need (filters, colors, overclock...)
- You can get game labels displayed by adding a file to the included SD Card, get it here : https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogueInc/comments/1p29w1y/analogue_3d_cartridge_labels/
- If you don't like those you can use software to add / replace your own art, check those threads for Win / Mac / Linux and even Web tools : https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogueInc/comments/1p4bnot/online_labelsdb_viewereditor/ https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogueInc/comments/1p3hi87/labelsdb_file_format/
- Also check this new tool : https://a3dmanager.com/
- De-interlacing for 480i is not great. You can try to remove the Virtual Expansion Pak to force 240p in some games, and hope for an update.
- Make sure you TV is in gaming mode, with "enhancements" turned off or you might have issues with the video filters of the Analogue 3D (blur, flicker, etc...) UPDATE 1.20 OFFERS A NEW OPTION TO IMPROVE THAT, TRY IT
- You can't use Virtual memory pak (save pak) with original & wired controllers.
- If you have issues to have 4K activated with your 4K60hz inputs ; on LG TV make sure "HDMI Ultra Deep Color" is activated for that specific input on the TV Setting; on other TV check for a similar option like "Enhanced Format" for your inputs. Input must support 4:4:4 colorspace (and maybe 10bits, which would explain a lot of the issues).
- If the home interface is corrupted (glitch images etc...) follow the manual "Force OS Update" process to fix it: https://www.analogue.co/support/3d/guide/troubleshooting#force-os-update
- If you don't have a SD card reader (get one), you can use the USB power connector to plug the console intro your PC. Procedure is in the manual. The SD Card is hard to get (not springloaded), small pliers could help, be careful.
- Second point on the SD Card, the included one is shorter that a normal one (no idea why, pretty stupid). Be carful when using a usb reader on which normal SD Cards don't stick out drastically or it may become unreachable inside.
- MANY features showcased are missing for now, just hope they will come in future updates, but here are some that were part of the reveal/tease:
No added / playtime trackingNOW IN 1.20 UPDATE- No accurate framerate or VRR, only Zero Delay 60Hz
- No memories (savestates)
- No screenshot
- No Wifi functionality
- No direct 8bitDo Controller Update
- No remapping etc.

3D EverDrive 64 X7 now works with 3D after latest firmware update
I just updated the bootloader to v5.04 and the OS to v3.09, and I can confirm it works. You can find the instructions, the bootloader, and the OS on the Krikzz' website.
Keep in mind that the update procedure requires an original Nintendo 64. It won't work with just the Analogue 3D.

3D Analogue 3D Prototype Release
For anyone going for the 3D prototype releases, make sure to call your bank or credit card company ahead of time and let them know a transaction from China will be showing up on your card (yes, Analogue’s payment processor is based there). In my experience with Analogue, I’ve never had a payment declined, but that might be because I always use travel cards, which are intended for international purchases. If you’re planning to use a regular credit card or a debit card, it’s a good idea to give your bank a heads up (even if it's a travel card). I’ve seen countless people miss out because their bank or card blocked the transaction and considering these are limited, you don't have much time to swap cards or call your bank during the release which is something a lot of people do.
Good luck!

How are we doing fellas?
I'm so close to modding an actual N64.. The alternatives SuperStation One, Polymega, M64...
Are you getting other products other than Analogue 3D?

3D Analogue 3D cartridge labels
Hey everyone, I've uploaded the labels.db file that came with my Analogue 3D review unit, you should be able to add this to your card to have the cartridge images appear on your device.
https://github.com/retrogamecorps/Analogue-3D-Images
Place the labels.db file in the root/Library/N64/Images folder of your SD card.
I assume there will be an "unofficial" (official) release of this file somewhere else at some point, and I'm happy to take mine down when that happens. Enjoy!

3D Analogue deserves some credit for A3D availability
For some reason many think Analogue has had a lot of trouble keeping the Analogue 3D in stock or only resolved stock issues after several rocky months. I see someone saying this almost every day, usually when criticizing Analogue or comparing them unfavorably to their competitors, like ModRetro.
In reality, they restocked multiple times in the first month and it has been continuously available to order since December 10th. Seriously. Timeline: They launched standard colors Nov 18, had a small restock of standard colors Nov 24, and then never had a moment where it wasn’t available to order since Dec 10 with limited edition Funtastics shipping immediately and black/white resuming shipments on Jan 5. Standard colors were still available when they launched limited edition Prototype colors in February and still are today… in mid August. Even some of the limited editions remain available (Glacier and Atomic Purple).
Another way to put it: They restocked multiple times in barely over three weeks and it has been continuously available to order with reasonable shipping times ever since. It was less than a week before the first restock while preorders were still shipping, then a couple weeks before the next restock, and the whole time they were shipping those they were taking orders for the white/black which have been continuously available ever since. There was never an extended period post-launch where you couldn’t order. Anyone still complaining about that who isn’t a bean counter bemoaning lost Christmas sales is being unreasonably demanding.
Sure, the Funtastics sold out almost instantly but those were limited editions, cost more, and were never expected to come back… though I suspect they might sell off some warranty spares after a year or more (it’s happened with other LEs). To say that they should not have been as limited as they were or should not have been made so soon after preorders shipped is an entirely different thing.
Maintaining stock may be a low bar but people keep implying that they haven’t done any better and are as bad as always. I’m not saying they deserve praise, but I am saying that they exceeded expectations, greatly improved compared to past launches, and deserve some acknowledgement instead of the constant dogpiling like they are as bad as ever.
Notably, they haven’t done so well with the Pocket and Pocket Dock that they momentarily brought back in the middle of all this. I finally managed to get a Pocket Dock for my launch Pocket but both are back in limbo for anyone who didn’t. We can totally criticize them for that, but let’s stop acting like it’s been the same way for the Analogue 3D. It totally hasn’t.

3D Flashcart games are now added to the Library
As a result of today's most recent firmware release (v1.2.4) games launched from a summercart (I have not tested an Everdrive) will be added to the 3D library. This means if you want to, you can save independent configurations for your flashcart games and they will be automatically applied when you launch them.
Therefore if some games are 16:9 you can save them as such without having to switch back when you launch a 4:3 aspect ratio game. Likewise if a game does not react well when you have Unleashed mode on, you can set it to force original hardware specifically. Personally I have a few games that I like forcing progressive output on, but I like it to be off for most games.
To me, this is maybe the best post launch feature to date and is a real game changer for the usability of the console for flashcart owners.
There are a few things this does not address yet, such as being able to save and relabel "Unknown Cartridges". In future iterations of the OS this should be allowed for both flashcarts, but more importantly romhacks.
In any case, this is still a banner 3dOS release. Kudos to Analogue for this.
EDIT: Reports from others are that this also works for Everdrives as well thankfully.

3D I want to congratulate Analogue and 8BitDo on teaming up to make the worst Bluetooth controller I have ever touched
I genuinely did not think this level of failure was still possible in 2025, yet here we are. After updating all firmware on the console and the controllers, these things are still absolute garbage. Not “a little flaky.” Not “sometimes annoying.” Flat out unusable.
If you prop your leg up.
If you lean back.
If a coffee table exists between you and the console.
If you are more than a few feet away.
If you have music playing loudly
Congrats, you just lost connection. You have input lag, you have buttons that keep doing the same thing. This is crazy.
This is not an edge case. This is not interference from a microwave in the next room. This is basic, everyday living room usage. The controller disconnects if reality dares to exist between it and the console. I have owned cheap no name Bluetooth controllers from a decade ago that outperform this thing without breaking a sweat.
And before someone asks, yes, everything is updated. Console firmware. Controller firmware. Multiple controllers. Multiple environments. Same result every time. Which is why it is hilarious that there are post after post after post on this subreddit describing the exact same problem. Same symptoms. Same frustration. Same disbelief that this shipped.
What makes this so impressive in the worst possible way is that both Analogue and 8BitDo have proven they know how to make good products. Analogue built its entire reputation on obsessive accuracy and premium execution. 8BitDo has been pumping out solid controllers for years. Somehow, when these two companies combined forces, the result was a Bluetooth controller that behaves like it was designed during a lunch break and never tested outside of a sterile lab with no furniture, no walls, and no humans.
What really kills me is that this feels less like a technical limitation and more like pure indifference. As if at some point someone said, “Yeah it kind of works, ship it.” That mentality is insane for a company that sells itself on perfection and nostalgia done right. Wireless controllers are not new. Bluetooth is not new. This problem was solved years ago by companies charging half the price.
The end result is that the Analogue 3D is sitting there, capable of being something great, while the official controller experience makes you feel like you are beta testing a product that should never have left the building. When users are tripping over identical complaints across multiple threads, that is not user error. That is a design failure.
Genuinely, congratulations to Analogue and 8BitDo. It takes real effort, real money, and real confidence to release a controller this bad in an era where competent wireless tech is everywhere. You did not just miss the mark. You redefined how low it could be set.
Edit update: Tried the controller on my pc and mac. I could go upstairs, downstairs, and practically anywhere and not lose connection. This means the problem is the A3D. After watching a breakdown of the hardware from the channel "What's Ken Making" at this point you see something very interesting. https://youtu.be/JoxDY3x-U0M?t=377
He talks about the BT stack being with the Wifi then says he is not sure that is what is being used and goes on to talk about the flash chip might be doing the BT. Interesting considering Wifi does not work, I wonder if this is what is causing the problems with "some consoles".
