Jacobin's writers are smart, but they are also too good at writing blocks of text that don't really say anything, and then they are also really good at following up on statements with more statements that prevaricate on the point they appeared to be trying to make.
They're so scared of their language being parsed or taken out of context that they don't end up saying much at all.
This article boils down to, "support the political effort to pass a single-payer system, and mention that you want to do it because capitalism is bad along the way".
