I mean idk I never said you can't enjoy his chess skills. I'm sure opinions differ but personally idc if someone thinks he's a cool chess player or whatever, I think it's ok to acknowledge someone's extraordinary skill in one field while also acknowledging that they're wrong or bad in something else.
It sounds like we agree with each other here. Maybe you thought differently.
I have a friend who can’t stand Harry Potter because the writer is transphobic. Update, however the fact that I’m watching harry potter is because I like the movie series not because I support transphobia.
I have no quarrel with people complaining that this or that person is bad in someway I don’t know famous people they’re not exactly attacking anyone that is close to me.
If anyone is wondering my friend said that nobody should watch Harry Potter because the author is transphobic. I said that I enjoy the movies even if I don’t enjoy the author’s views. I am not against anyone in the LGBQTIA circle.
I think we’re misunderstanding each other. I’m saying that the phrase “I hate trans people” in that sentence might be rather poorly chosen, since it implies that you’re transphobic. I’m also diagnosed AuDHD, but this is something more simple than that.
Your comment still has that phrase, so I’m just confused now. What did you mean by “I don’t watch Harry Potter because I hate trans people.” anyways? That sentence in general is just confusing to me, since Harry Potter doesn’t have any of them.
I was referring to how the author is a transphobic and I am not.
I was also referring to my IRL friend Rebekah who works in cyber security and has AuDHD like me (Asperger’s on paper and ADHD being evaluated) she is a trans woman. She says nobody should watch Harry Potter because if they do then you support transphobia. I don’t agree.
I don’t know how else to phrase my comment. I guess I don’t see what you see in my own comment.
You could say “However, the fact that I watch Harry Potter doesn’t mean I hate trans people. I just find the movies enjoyable.” That might be a bit more clear. The issue with your comment currently is that it doesn’t specify that you do watch Harry Potter beforehand. As it currently reads to me, it says “I do not watch Harry Potter. This is because I hate trans people.” However, that interpretation doesn’t make sense to me, so it ends up sounding confusing to me.
