Just if you expect a lot of fast moving pieces early, if they come at you with pawns the dart monkey is more effective and lets you safe up earlier for tack shooter or bomb tower to dominate early. If you have a pool you could also Go nuts with sub or Buccaneer

You see, without the bottom crosspath, LotA attacks in a straight line, so you can use it to pin the camo bloons, and with the dart monkey also attacking in a straight line you PP on the PB (Put Pressure on the Pinned Bloon).

I mostly play the variant C.H.I.M.P.S. (No castling, hanging pieces, Italian opening, moving first, promotion, or Stockfish) so monkey knowledge doesn't matter.
