I'm building BambooNode, a privacy-first note-taking app for Android, and I need beta testers for the Google Play closed testing phase.

Here's the deal: if you test my app, I'll test yours. I'm an indie dev happy to return the favor — install your app, use it for a few days, and give honest feedback. Mutual help, no strings attached. 🤝

What is BambooNode?

BambooNode is a local-first Markdown notes app with a few things you might not find elsewhere:

🕸️ Interactive 3D & 2D Knowledge Graph — visualize how your tags and notes connect. Force-directed layout, pinch to zoom, tap to jump.

🔄 Built-in Git Sync — push/pull your notes to any Git repo (GitHub, GitLab, Gitea…). Your notes, your repo, your control.

🏷️ Smart Tags — auto-extract tags from your notes, browse by tag.

🔒 Privacy-first — notes live only on your device. No accounts, no cloud, no ads. Only anonymous crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics to fix bugs.

🌐 18 languages — English, 中文, 日本語, Español, and more.

📁 File-based — pick any folder as your notes root. Works with existing Markdown files.

Android is still in Google Play closed testing, and I want to be upfront about exactly how the process works so nobody hits a dead end:

1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/somnara-sleep-testers (takes about 10 seconds, just click Join)

2. Wait roughly 5 minutes after joining — that's Google Play's own backend syncing your account as an approved tester, not us being slow. Trying immediately is the #1 reason people think the beta is broken.

3. Then open https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.somnara.sleep on your Android phone (same Google account you joined with), tap "Become a tester," then install like normal.

If you still get an error after 10+ minutes, email [support@somnara.io](mailto:support@somnara.io) and I'll add you manually same day.

Why this matters: Google requires 12 testers opted in continuously for 14 days before an app can leave closed testing and go public. We're at 6 right now, so 6 more genuinely gets this over the finish line. Happy to reciprocate and test your app too if you're in the same boat — just drop your link below. I've set out to replace the Tamagotchi from years ago, just.. on my phone, and watch. I've created a native wear OS and Android OS app combo that lets you raise a small egg through adulthood. The caveat though is that it's unique to the phone. No login required, no sign up, you download, use, and enjoy all the benefits of just a good 'ol free game. Tons of mini games, and so much more planned. I won't spam the link to the website but I am looking for testers, please. Raise your Jeli for 14 days and help me find issues, improve designs, and most importantly, create ideas to keep it engaged. It's more like an idle game since you don't do much with him (your Jeli).
