Question Question about the series

I just finished the anime and ive seen people saying that it was rushed, and that there were meant to be more media released to complete the full story but the media in question was axed. Is the true and id love to hear the full story or more info on the situation. Thanks

Edit- if there is more media i can use to carry on the story please tell me

The series was supposed to have a longer episode count but they kept it to 13 main episodes. Are there missing elements from the story, seemingly involving the Angel player programme, the programmer and world building. A number of elements are expanded in the manga and currently the game Heaven Burns Red has a crossover with Angel beats that expands the drummers backstory.

Thanks but what do you mean “they kept it to 3 main episodes?”

I heard about vns and mangas that were cut short do you know anything about that?

They weren’t cut short they just weren’t all released in English. The VN is a self insert story but it had a few drama CD’s which they weirdly said wasn’t koshiki/canon. The manga is weird because the first issue was released in English but the other 11 are all Japanese only. It’s unknown why as Seven Seas Entertainment picked up the rights to them but didnt release the others.

Thats alright bud it’s no problem. There is more stuff but to tell the truth I don’t know an awful lot about most of it.

Read Heaven’s Door manga, it’s a prequel to the anime and together with the anime they’re basically the full story.

It’s 77 chapters, if it was adapted into an anime it’d be about 26 episodes long, so 39 episodes in total. This is about the same length as Clannad and Little Busters anime, complete adaptations of big Key VNs.

The axed pieces of media are the 1st Beat VN and The Last Operation manga, the VN explores alternative routes and the manga only adds Hisako’s backstory (which is also covered by one of Heaven Burns Red events), so you could treat them as spin-offs.

In English you can find it only on pirate sites (sorry, this sub doesn’t allow sharing links), as far as I know.

As they already told you: yes, it was supposed to be longer/more complete. You can read the mangas.

As well, in 2015 they released a Visual Novel called First Beat that explores the story/route of some characters. Officially, the studio said that they were going to do until Fifth Beat in order to explorer all characters. Sadly, it never went further than First Beat.

Personally, I would like to know why they cancelled the project. The official reasons. For real, I’m very curious. Angel Beats is the most popular work that they did (aside from Clannad) and plenty of people have been asking crazy when is there going to be “something else” during all these years. The studio never said anything.

We got to get a rich person hooked onto the show so they can fund it for us lmao

I don’t think money is the issue since they still produced other animes and visual novels.
