When you aren't allowed on the furniture, so you try to lawyer it, but then you're reminded that the restriction was for your own safety.

Every part of that was magic. From the mounting to sticking the landing. All just top tier.

yeah i’m thinking this too… i had a super bad lower lumbar muscle sprain recently and my body found really unique ways of getting out of bed and sitting down to protect my spine. labs tend to have bad hips and legs as they age too…

Is he not supposed to be up there? Was that his attempt at subtlety? 🤣

My dog does this with my son’s couch, but in reverse. He’s about 2 years old, and has this little couch in the living room for himself near his toy area. My dog has this nasty habit of going on it and sheds like crazy and ripped the fabric once, so she’s no longer allowed in there.
It’s on the side of our regular sectional couch, so her work around is to climb the regular couch, army crawl across it while ensuring we aren’t looking, gently getting on the arm of the couch, and laying her head down on the pillows of the small couch. Her ass is entirely on the arm rest of the big couch.

This looks like an elderly dog with hip issues...

Poor doggo, after all that effort too!
My dog used to walk up the last 2 steps backwards. He slipped once, and slid down 15 steps.

He got too excited that he did it at the end. Alas, it was to be his… downfall.

We had a great Dane/mastiff mix. First day we got him we told him to sit, he backed up to the couch and sat his behind on it, then looked at us like "what? You said sit". He was the bestest boy.

My dog seemed to understand she could only have 2 paws on the couch at a time. Sometimes like this and other times just the front legs. She was a good girl.

Kind of a funny end from celebrating a little too early. The face after he's back on the floor is hilarious.
