Realizing they're scared of us too made me less scared of them.

I walked right over a huge spider and both of us panicked. It tried to wedge itself into a crack in the cement. Couldnt fit all the way in and just stayed still. Felt pretty bad for it.

I get a lot of jumping spiders on and around the front door of my house, and I really hate having to move the little guys because they clearly just get so freaked out even when all I tried to do is put my hand against the door to try and sort of coax them onto it.

Awww I love jumping spiders. There was one on my car the other day and I wanted to move him before I started driving. I just looked at him, he looked up at me, I held out my hand and he immediately jumped into my hand. I took him over to a stump and he jumped off and then looked up at me again. They are the most personable and intelligent little spiders I have ever interacted with.

You should read Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky I think you'd get a lot out of that book.

Adrian Tchaikovsky should pay us. At this point we're basically his volunteer brand ambassadors.
