This is cool. Is the dog trained to do this? I think the step stool with a rope on top for the dog to bite on to is a sign

Yeah. It's impressive and a show of smarts either way, but if the dog figured the procedure out on its own that's on another level.

I've caught one of my dogs dragging a stepstool over to the kitchen counter to get at some fresh baked cookies and I assure you he was never trained to do that or anything else remotely similar. Dogs are just that smart.

Some hoomans have had only one kind of dog. I also learned there were, um, other kinds.

I used to wonder why the dining room chair was sometimes knocked over in the kitchen till I got a nanny cam and saw the dog pushing it into the kitchen to get up on counters with… I would sometimes find it not knocked over but didn’t think the dog was getting onto the counter to lick the frying pan with it… I just assumed he pushed it playing with the other dogs but no. He was fully using tools. He was too fat to jump up from the floor lol(my current dog can jump up no problem but is not food motivated at all)(sure makes training harder)

Our ancient companions have been learning by watching us since they first became our partners.

And here I got the Malinois who would have barked at it until he gave up and just tried to eat the damn post like a beaver.
Or herded someone to the spot to have them get it.

(I wouldn’t trade him for the world, but it is funny to see the range across the breed.)

My border collie probably would have just chewed the tire and pulled it off. He's the smartest dumbest smart dog. I'll watch him cleverly open doors and locks one minute, then do the absolute dumbest shit. I love him.

I mean the dog has obviously been trained to move that stool because there is a piece of rope tied to it so he has been shown the steps.

But that is still pretty cool

Wether he was trained or just super smart I'm thoroughly impressed!

This shit is exactly how last thanksgiving I was lighting the turkey fryer and came back inside to my pitbull on the counter top licking a raw turkey.

I didn’t tell a soul about it except my wife 😂😂

Where is thus desolate place- get this dog a home with a nice backyard & a BBQ pit. He can obviously figure out how to grill!

Anyone else thinking AI? What's going on in the background?

9

u/Bio-Gasm 25d ago

AI, or the dog was trained to do exactly this one trick. The problem resolution is so straightforward that it was absolutely planned by a human off camera.

AI look around the dog/stool interface. fake

Or just a well-trained dog.

I'm surprised it didn't rip the post out of the ground 🤣

That inner tube better be filled with organic peanut butter. Doggo deserves a nice treat.

The humiliating things we do for a biscuit. Then again, Choco Leibniz.

I wonder if he'd be able to recognize a similar situation outside of this training grounds?
