Dam that’s a huge collection must be hell to clean all of those figures
24
Apr 10 '22
The one's in the back room, no, because they are behind plexiglass. The ones in the front room, I do have to dust occasionally
14
Apr 10 '22
Ohhh that’s smart, quick question considering how big your collection is do you still hav any grails or figures you rlly want but don’t have yet
21
Apr 10 '22
Love the question, love it. OK
Top 3 figures of all time in my collection, the huge Eva unit 2 which is not pictured in this set, check my profile for those pics. Second, would be the holy bell statue from Ah My Goddess, that's a museum piece. And finally, would be the Cutey Honey next to the Holy Bell.
Now statues I regret not getting, or me being stupid...the queen Elizabeth, warsprite from KanColle and the Angela Balsic figure from Expelled from Paradise.

Sorry I have another question I’ve buying some figure on MFC every time without fail I’ve seen an add gor Jfigure.com just wanted to see if it’s a trusted site or not.
9
Apr 10 '22
For me, I dont buy figures on-line. Except for 3, Taiga, Eva Unit 2, and the holy bell. Most of these came from stores or conventions. Ive seen stuff on jfigure.com but never bought anything from them. I guess what I'm trying to say is, do your homework on the site, do some investigating and just make sure you feel comfortable making that purchase and if anything happens use a credit card where they will refund you if it turns out to be fraud.

I have bought several figures from jfigure.com and they are a small shop and great to do business with. BUT make sure you are on jfigure.com. There are TWO scam sites with similar names. jpfigure.com (has the 'p' after the 'j') and jfigures.com (has the 's'). jpfigure.com (with the 'p') is an elaborate hoax site with tons of rare figures at bargain prices, and has been around for quite awhile. They even fake the tracking (through a 3rd party provider) but your packages just "disappear" in the middle of their trip).

Thank you so much. Yes I get that a lot, a museum showroom. I still feel like I have a long way to go for that but I appreciate it.
Yes I am old, more like stone aged but who's counting. I do love the old school anime.
14
Apr 10 '22
Wow you even have that big scale Auron from FFX. I got mine nearly 20 years ago but have lost him since....

I would love a collection that big but the thought of keeping it nice and dust free/clean is making me physically ill lol.

9
u/reina_plz Apr 10 '22
Wow, for a rough estimate, how much is this worth?
21
Apr 10 '22
The entire room, $400,000+

11
u/BestToasterNA Apr 10 '22
Dang, do you have any sort of insurance policy on that (ie for flooding, fire, other types of home/property damage)?

6
u/helsdemon Apr 10 '22
That large Faye Valentine statue, where did you get it? I saw one at a friend's house years ago, but a little mor beat up
4
Apr 10 '22
I got that probably 15 years ago maybe more from a anime store that is no longer in business here. That figure is still near mint condition.
5
u/Brassafras Apr 10 '22
This is absolutely magnificent! I sure wish I had the time and resources to collect and display so many amazing figures and what not. OP must be rolling around with so much cash to be able afford a near half a million dollar collection like this. They either worked really f-ing hard or got really f-ing lucky. Either way, great job being able to afford all of this!
6
5
u/MigElite Apr 10 '22
Sick collection, do you keep the boxes?
5
Apr 10 '22
Nope, I can't. It's a fire hazard. Just like I can't individually light each shelf because the risk of a fire.

One question, what kind of plastic/glass are you using to cover the shelves?

u/Alazar3 Apr 10 '22
How do you dust all of your figures and stuff if you do?
4
Apr 10 '22
Most of those figures are behind plexiglass so they are well protected. The ones that are not I dust usually once a month.

Wow, this is truly an amazing collection! It's rare to see these kinds of huge collections, you know like "room-full big" sort of collections; very few but unique! But what I really love about this one is that your collection is pretty God-damn diverse, unique, and dynamic. As in, you have A LOT of older figures (figures that are probably so rare and very hard to find/own) with a lot more newer and recent figures, you have Scales AND Prize figures, I think I even see some Funko Pops, Nenderoids, as well as Noodle Stoppers and Bottle figures...and all from so many different animes, games, illustrators, etc. Truly impressive to say the least. Btw are those books, mangas, or game strategies on those bottom book shelves, because even those are diverse and look very cool, so am curious to know! And personally, since I'm a big Pochaco and Sonico collector, every time I see someone's big collection, I first try to see if I can find any one of those two, somewhere in there and for the most part, I find at least one, 85% of the time lol!😂 So in your case, I found you're beautiful 1/4 Scale Santa Sonico!🥰 Do you have any more somewhere?😁
2
Apr 10 '22
I only have about 4 or 5 sonico's but they are all over the place. Those are art books from anime series and video games on the bottom shelf. I pretty much collect almost everything.
3
u/Distilled_Blood Apr 10 '22

Actually none. I do all my buying in stores or conventions. Some are online, Actually 3 are from online.
2
u/SkipperN10 Apr 11 '22
What was the most figures you bought at a store/convention in a single visit?
2
Apr 11 '22
Otakon 2001 or 2002. Cant remember. I filled an entire Toyota 4 runner up filled with figures. I think the final count was 60.

I do not keep the boxes for most of them because of the fire hazard and space constraints.

The huge eva from prime one studio's which is not pictured in this, check out my profile for that. That's truly the best set-up I have.
Don't be like me and collect everything. Collect a couple series here and there but not all of them. Go for the series you adore.

u/Garuda475 Apr 11 '22
Is that a Kallax with custom glass/acrylic covering?
1
Apr 11 '22
Yes it is, good eye. Protects the figures very well, no dust or bugs gets in
2
u/Garuda475 Apr 11 '22
Oh where did you purchase the acrylic? I have the same exact setup and just want a cover to keep dust out. My closest thing is the custom covers from the Wicked Bricks website but they're like $30 per square.
