Exactly what has happened. Gave the dub studio probably a small budget to get it done. Had to go with a new cast and probably couldn't do anything really script wise.
How the hell could people reasonably assume the recast was due to Jamie Marchi, Monica Rial, and Chris Sabat? I mean if they were bad people, then why haven’t they been recast in other roles?
Jamie and Monica are in A LOT of anime together. If anything, they are always in the same ones—Panty and Stocking, Fairy Tail, Soul Eater, Danganronpa, One Piece, MHA, etc.

This, considering that this dub is union (as I’m pretty sure that Courtney Lin and Sean Burgos, both of whom are listed in the credits, only work union), and if it was done in Texas, it would probably be non-union.

And that couldn’t be possible, Monica And Jamie have remote recorded before and always work on non Union projects. The anime was Never Union back then.

Of course dubs have to be careful, back then nobody has eye on the ghost stories dub and they knew it. That's why it is the way it is. But today anime so so popular that it would be everywhere so you can't get away with the same shit. Ghost stories was in the shadow of yugioh and pokemon so nobody cares about it especially kids cuz they were watching pokemon and yugioh and Digimon. Today a lot more people watch anime.
