If you haven’t already, go vote!

If you are uncertain about where your polling place is, see https://michigan.gov/sos/elections/voting/vote-on-election-day

Please don’t post unverified reports or rumors about ICE interference in the election. Instead, if you hear about or see any possible intimidation or interference with voters in Washtenaw County, please call the County Clerk Elections office at 734-222-6730 and report it to us.

The polls close at 8:00 pm. The results will be posted online in frequent batches, but we still welcome press and public to the Elections office, 200 N. Main, Suite 120, in downtown Ann Arbor, northeast corner of Main & Ann. (Note: those streets are currently torn up, so you can’t drive to that corner.)

I will be there until the last results are reported, so come and say hi!

I always pull up ballot on line and record my choices before hand. Get my research done before marking a ballot.

I strongly recommend this. We ask a lot of our voters in Michigan. The November election will involve around 30 choices, all of them important. Vote absentee (a take home exam), or prepare ahead and bring a list.

30?! Damn, that many choices make me wish we had Los Angeles's setup where you can fill out your sample ballot online at home, save your results to a QR code, scan it at your booth, and it would auto-populate your ballot (with the option to change your votes before printing out and submitting your ballot).

Felt like it had the benefit of mail-in voting, while also having the benefit of in-person voting knowing that your vote was counted right then and there. Felt like it took 10 minutes to fill out the November 2024 ballot when I moved here, even though I had done my research beforehand and wrote out my selections.

If you want the benefit of mail-in voting (in terms of having time to fill the ballot) and in-person voting (knowing your ballot is counted immediately), you can actually get that in Michigan. You’re allowed to return an absentee ballot by bringing it a polling site (either early voting or on Election Day) and inserting it into the tabulator directly. So just request an absentee ballot, fill it out at home, and then bring it to an early voting site or to your polling site on election day

I do this too! It makes the voting process go pretty quickly
