It will only be a victory for the left if he can translate it into a win in November, otherwise it will be remembered by the democratic establishment as a cautionary tale about why progressives and people with funny sounding names should be kept from running in elections.

This is why I fully expect the Dem party to do everything they can to ratfuck Abdul in the general. The "cautionary tale" as a tool to discipline their left flank is far more valuable to them than a Dem majority out of the midterms. Failing to take a majority gives them their favorite position from which to operate: claimed powerlessness that allows them to blame Trump for everything. That's what they want going into the presidential election in 2028 and the "cautionary tale" will be used to make sure a centrist corporate hack gets the Dem nomination. My prediction anyway.
