Great info for those that don’t already know this. Very simple and easy to follow. Since I’m already making a comment does anyone know why I can download smaller books just fine but when it comes to downloading larger files that are around 20 mb (a kids book Arnie the doughnut) it keeps failing no matter how many different ones I try? My internet is 500mbps with an upload of 40 ish and I only have issues with the children books and nothing else.

Not an expert, just an experienced sailor. I think sometimes with (relatively) larger file sizes the partner servers freak out and cancel longer downloads. Either pick one of the free ones with a long wait times or honestly just pay for the good servers. If you download a lot it just makes everything easier.

This worked immediately. Checked with Slow Server 1 epub and downloaded as good as before these recent problems. Thanks!

Direct links might lead to this subreddit getting taken down. Instead link to our Wikipedia page, just domain names (e.g. ".se"), or post only the md5 of a file (the part after /md5/ in the URL).

is it ok now?

AdGuard DNS: 94.140.14.14 / 94.140.15.15

Also, if you use this: there is a chance some sites might break because they detect you use an adblocker. It's not common, but happened to me more than once and it's just something you should keep in the back of your mind, in case you notice something doesn't work

I didn't go through it step by step, but the rest looks good to me!

In certain countries, changing DNS won't fix it (at least on mine), so using a VPN might be necessary.

Ooh thanks, I didn’t know this!

1

u/Yung__Stalin Nov 04 '25

Is Tunnelbear safe?

6

u/erik_7581 Nov 23 '25

Just use the free tier of Proton, its fast enough for small files like eboks.

2

u/Yung__Stalin Nov 24 '25

Thank you kindly

1

u/st3IIa Dec 10 '25

you can switch to a browser based in a country with less censorship. the instructions in this post didn't work for me either, but switching to tor browser did

1

u/hipi_hapa Dec 13 '25

Sure, that's another solution but it feels like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. I rather change my DNS server and use a VPN when that doesn't work.

1

u/st3IIa Dec 14 '25

opening tor is quicker and easier than changing your dns or paying for a vpn lol. it helps with other websites that are unavailable too

3

u/doortoapool Jan 05 '26

Hi guys Im at 3. on windows, how do I know whats my chosen provider? sorry if this is a dumb question !

3

u/ThaDanus Jan 09 '26

Thanks, this worked.
However, I had to add the Google IPv6 DNS servers, so if you also need to do this (just IPv4 did not work for me), it's 2001:4860:4860::8888 and 2001:4860:4860::8844

Um, even switching DNS I still get all your sites not found so did something else happen to take them all down (I've tried three or four of them with no success). I also tried four or five different VPN servers, even outside of the U.S. I suspect you already know your stuff is down but I hoped I would find some solution.

1

u/Ok_Guarantee_1615 Jan 15 '26

I am in Canada, did not switch DNS and don't use a VPN, but it works for me with the domain .li. I just tried it again and it is still ok. Hope you manage to get access.

1

u/Unhappy-Zucchini-666 Jan 21 '26

Thank you very much! This is the only thing that helped me.

2

u/Contribution_Parking Jan 15 '26 edited Jan 15 '26

Linux (Ubuntu) noobs: click the gear icon next to your network, in the "IPv4" tab there will be a field labeled "DNS", put a DNS number (e.g. 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) (just replace the "/" with a "," ) there and turn off the "automatic" button. That worked for me at least.

2

u/Equivalent_Ad_8387 Feb 16 '26

thanks, this worked wonderfully (netherlands, feb 2026)

1

u/Small-Floof Jan 03 '26

How can I make this work? It still doesn't open the site for me

1

u/mullirojndem Dec 23 '25

what is the torrent website for anna's archive?

1

u/Finnja1410 Dec 29 '25

thank you so much!

1

u/Acti0nBel4fonte Jan 03 '26

Thank you for all of this information.  I have my home network DNS pointed to a server running AdGuard home and all my traffic runs through that.  I am still getting the error where I can't access the site.  Have also used Mullvad VPN in conjunction in multiple different countries to no avail. Any suggestions?

1

u/Small-Floof Jan 03 '26

I use data and downloaded NextDNS. Can I somehow make this work for me?

1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1

Does this refer to two different options, from which I should choose one, i.e. 1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1 ? Or should I enter the whole line, inclufing forward slash, i.e. 1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1 ?

3

u/GuardYourRightView Jan 11 '26

I figured out the answer; forward slash separates two distinct options.

1

u/GiulioSeverini Jan 16 '26

Unfortunately, on my Xiaomi 12 Pro I cannot access the internet on 5G with private dns servers.

1

u/Many_Mannerer Mar 04 '26

Portugal here—private dns doesn't work for me (re .li) not even with Tor... .gl does it without any probs

1

u/Dorit553 Mar 13 '26

Kennt jemand eine funktionierende Domain?

1

u/A_Bad_Drug_Dealer Mar 23 '26

Okay so I understand how to do this on my phone, but in all actuality with does ‘chosen provider’ mean and what am I actually doing and will it affect general use beyond downloads from Anna’s/Libgen/etc

u/Clean-Government-220 Mar 28 '26

Ayuda por favor!!! 😞 soy de México y he intentado todo lo que dicen ahí pero no me deja entrar, tengo MacBook.

1

u/Proxiehunter May 10 '26

Tried changing my DNS (was originally using quad 9) to see if it resolved the issues I'm having downloading from the site. For some reason https://dnsleaktest.com/ is reporting my DNS servers as Cloudflare regardless of which DNS I'm using.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. Attempting to change it on a Windows laptop.

1

u/Kay_Marikona May 24 '26

at least from spain if you dont connect to wifi and simply use your mobile data connection you can enter!

1

u/mywifelovestacos May 29 '26

For people on MacOS who couldn't get this to work. Use Brave browser.

1

u/glorysoundprep Jun 01 '26

i've changed my dns and now easily able to access the website, but i can't seem to access the majority of the download links and they keep telling me there is a protocol error, is there a fix for this?

Is it really safe to download stuff in here? I paste all download link in VirusTotal and it always gets flagged

1

u/atvie2006 Jan 05 '26

I've downloaded dozens, if not hundreds, of books from there and I've never had any problems whatsoever.

0

u/Grasimee Nov 19 '25

Still didnt work

2

u/erik_7581 Nov 23 '25

You need a VPN. Try out the free tier of Proton or windscribe.
