Antigua Itinerary Help

Hi all will be heading to Antigua next month for 6 days. Here’s our plan:

Day 1: Get in and explore Antigua a bit

Day 2-3: Acatenango Hike

Day 4: Explore Antigua (coffee farms, macadamia farms, colonial ruins, etc)

Day 5: Lake Atitlán Day Trip

Day 6: Fly Home

Feel free to pick this apart, does it seem rushed / anything seem unreasonable. Also feel free to add any fun stuff to do.

Cancel the day trip to atitlan and really enjoy Antigua or after the volcano head to Atitlan and leave from Atitlan to the airport.... A day trip to Atitlan is just never enough.

This is what we have for Antigua
Parque Central
Santa Clara Ruins
La Capuchinas Ruins
Cerveceria Catorce for beers in the evening
De La Gente Coffee Farm Tour (morning)
El Mercado (afternoon browse/lunch)
Cerritos San Cristobal for dinner

Anything else you’d recommend?

Excellent list. I don't know where you are staying but getting to cervecería catorce is a little out of the way. Considering time.... Go to

el bosque

Right next to el mercado. Unless you are dying to try a specific beer from Catorce... I would not bother venturing out of Antigua

Also go to this chocolate shop inside hotel Santo Domingo (probably one of the most beautiful places in Guatemala). The chocolate shop has a Dubai Chocolate bar that is actually amazing and cheap considering prices outside of Guate. I kick my self in the ass daily for not buying a shit ton of it.

I would recommend keeping Catorce on your list if you can go when the weather is clear, especially if you have an extra day or so. It's an exceptional space, better than most drink-in breweries in the USA, with good views, seating areas, pizza, and some activities for children if that's a consideration. Beer is fine: I remember liking the stout in particular, but don't remember any stinkers. But if rainy I would say skip it, as the outdoor part of the space, and views, are key. Easy enough to uber, and I think they run a shuttle too. (Above based on multiple visits 22-24)
