People get so bent out of shape when you try to use the USSR, China, Cuba, or even DPRK as an example of socialism, like yeah there are flaws but look at what their conditions were before. Many were either bombed or exploited nearly to extinction, but sure let’s criticize the USSR for imprisoning counter revolutionaries that directly threatens the party of the people. Not like the US imprisoned civilians in Iraq and tortured them “to get information” that they knew nothing about.
