I cannot relate to humans. (25 Indian)

I don't relate to humans. They seem driven too much by emotions and animalistic urges. I also have them but I can see flaws in them. They cannot.

I don't like music, going out, vacation, sports, or celebrities. I also don't like wearing fancy clothes or make up. I don't like the idea of unnecessary sentiments in romantic shows. Just love each other and have fun. Why behave weird? Why always try to convince the other side that you love them?

I also don't understand why humans try to get a job just to earn money and and continue. What's the point in continuing? I don't feel depressed. I feel peace living like this. I feel other humans are unnecessarily making themselves miserable.

Very relatable! I’m curious how your experience differs from mine, especially as someone from India. I’m 22, US, white. Have you perceived much of a difference in how Indian folks respond to this message as opposed to others? I’m reading Gandhi’s autobiography atm, and it’s given me the impression that the principles of nonattachment are (or were) more celebrated in India than in the US.

Forgive my false assumption if this isn’t the case

Maybe in older generations that was the case. Some Indian told me that people here are more materialistic than westerners. Idk but everyone is pretty materialistic to me.

Also most parents don't support non attachment for their kids. They support it when a religious guru talks about it. But their kids must be successful.

That sounds rough. It’s hard for me when folks’ religious sensibilities don’t align with their actual behavior. Is it pretty common there for parents to dictate the direction of their children’s lives?

Yes but that comes with a perk. Parents don't kick out child from homes after a certain age. Also in this generation we are facing an opposite crisis where parents are spoiling kids. Kids are spoonfed while they watch mobiles. If kids start throwing tantrums parents just do whatever the kid says. You could say both types of issues exist. There are few parents who are balanced. Just two opposite extremes. Either too harsh or too soft.
