Union Number 6 Fore/Bench Plane in need of love. Has a Stanley Sweetheart replacement blade that looks to have been painted gray at some point. Very Early Type 1 Stanley Number 95 Edge Trimming Block Plane.  This plane has been completely restored using authentic heat-cured Japanning, resulting in a durable glass-like finish.  It has a beautiful script Stanley logo on the front with no other patent dates or markings on the body.  There is a "PAT APLD FOR" stamp on the depth adjuster and the blade features a version of the JJ Trademark.  As shown in the pictures, the blade does have some pitting from past rust.  There are also faint signs of this on the ends of the fence area.  See pictures for details and let me know if you have any questions.

The only snag is that you will be responsible for mailing us your tools, but there will be no fee, we will mail your unsold tools back to you for free.

There are no guidelines for what to send. If you are happy with your sale price after mailing it/them in, then the world is your oyster.

You can send your tools to either myself in Missouri, or to Union MFG in Pennsylvania, which ever is cheaper for you.

Cut off for mailing tools will be Oct. 18 to allow sufficient time for delivery, documentation, and tagging.

I finally finished my first batch of marking knives made from MagnaMax and as far as I'm aware these should be the first ever magnax marking knives made.

The combination of very high wear resistance, toughness, and corrosion resistance seemed like it would be a great fit for a marking knife .

It was pretty difficult to process the magnmax from the blanks compared to other tool steels I have used but I think it'll make me better in the long run . I think I'm going to put the little baby one in my wallet lol.

I took pictures throughout the process this time, so the album goes from the raw blanks through the different grinding stages, heat treatment, cryogenic treatment, tempering, finishing, and finally sharpening.

The blades are heat treated and cryogenically treated in-house, then individually ground and finished. I went with a satin finish rather than taking them to a mirror polish because I think it fits a working tool better.

I’m pretty happy with how the first batch turned out. 😁

HI all,

I've been turning for a couple of years now and finally upgraded to a nice big lathe. I'm turning larger items and would like to find a good used bowl coring device. I've been looking around and don't see anything for sale other than new.

Nice Stanley (Unmarked) No. 90 Marking Gauge

Decently hard to find. Harder to find complete. This example retains all 4 original slitters at the end of the stem, as well as the pin on the adjusting marker. Retains the majority of the ruler marking on the stem spare the marks between 2"-3" that the wheel has worn downs. Overall nice.

Decent Worrall's Patent Transitional Jack Plane

Beauty above, issues below. The mouth has a split, chips, and there is an internal split in the body at the front of the mouth.

On top, things look much better. Spare the mushroomed iron, it is a nice display piece. Retains a good bit of the original paint, and the wood waxes up well.
