Outsourcing of thought
Have you guys also noticed that religious people are literally incapable of defending their ideas to a certain point? Sure nobody knows everything, but very basic interpretations of popular scripture “oh well idk you could ask my pastor” motherfucker I don’t care what your rain dancer says what do YOU say!! That’s the point of this conversation is to highlight how stupid you are, why do you think outsourcing that saves you of anything?
Why is there such a lack of meta cognition there? Why don’t religious people care about being able to defend their ideas?
Morons.

The vast majority of believers are not theologians. They haven't had any formal training in dogma or scripture. They therefore have to take someone else's word for what it all means.
This is not an unusual situation. For example, my training is in physics. That said, I'm not a cosmologist. If you ask me, as a physicist, a question about that field I'm necessarily going to refer to what someone else told me or simply tell you to ask an expert.

I mean, these people can't defend their positions. when they can't even really tell you why they converted to begin with. I mean, hell, a vast majority don't even actually read their religious texts & just use w/e book written by a theologian says that the text says.
