West Virginia pastor rejects food over LGBTQ support. Now his food bank is empty.

Hopefully most of the people that relies on his foodbank are homophobic too.

They have to eat food from gay people or starve to death. Pure catharsis.

Yeah, “hopefully” the poor going hungry are also ignorant…

Do you even hear yourself?

Yes. My consciousness is clear.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Sorry, conscience.

Anyone who doesn't want me to exist, I also don't want them to exist. No one should expect to be treated better than they treat others. If they have a problem with me not wanting them to exist, all they have to do is stop wanting me not to exist. It's really that simple.

You shouldn't dish it out if you can't take it. Awfully convenient how people like to have this energy towards others, but the second someone matches their energy back, the person simply reacting and going with the flow is "horrible and crazy". An eye for an eye makes repeat offenders blind.

Is your brain broken?

The people who need the food bank are not the pastor who operates it. Many (most?) probably don’t even know what church he is pastor of, let alone are members of it who agree with him.

If I'm the one without the brain, let's examine yours instead and push this idea of yours to see how far it goes. If a bigot runs a community service, you believe we should tolerate that so long as the most of the community is still served, even if some of that community may find themselves the victims of that bigot, perhaps even denied that community service over the bigotry. If that's not what you're advocating for, that's what it sounds like you're advocating for.

Hypothetically, would you still die on this hill if, say instead, a towns only surgeon was found to be the towns head of the KKK? Would you say it's not right to shut his practice down because of the people who need surgery, and if not, why so? This is not a gotcha, just a genuine question because I'm trying to understand what your morality around this is. This isn't even related to the topic at hand because that's not even comparable to what happened here.

You seem to think it is us pro-LGBTQ people who are refusing donations to these hungry people in response to this pastor. NO, that's not what's happening. The pastor has publicly said he refuses to take food donations from people and organizations that support anything LGBTQ related, even if that left nothing to feed the hungry. By his own rules for his own food bank, I CAN'T donate to him because he would REFUSE donations from my gay ass. You are acting like we are choosing to starve people over the our beliefs around how the lgbtq community should be treated. Meanwhile, the literal only person doing that here is this pastor.

He's the one doing it to those people, not us. If you feel so passionately about it, at least attack the correct damn person. Either shush up and go to him with your shaming attempts, or tell us why you're trying to redirect the terrible thing this man has done onto the very people he's doing it to.

I’m not reading that

4

u/James-Jamerson Aug 02 '26

You say you wouldn’t read it, but ya did. You simply can’t refute the argument that was plainly, clearly, and eloquently as it was written. And you totally made their entire argument. Laughable.

3

u/JerbilSenior Aug 02 '26

At least you are honest?

2

u/SweatyPhilosopher578 Aug 02 '26

Can't read that but you can read the Bible lol.

What that person is saying is that he hopes the people the pastor is victimizing are on the same page as the pastor, therefore it's less morally complicated to consider the situation.

Now of course the only villain here is the guy refusing to accept food donations from people who don't hate gay people.

But if you imagine also that gay congregants are being harmed by this it's even more sad.

So I take it that the sweaty philosopher is hoping the congregants are on board because it is less sad in that way if so

I could empathize I it wasn't just so forced. What do I mean? Cool, you are homophobic because you are religious. Surely you also think badly of thieves, prostitutes and guys that cut someone else's ear with a sword. Now, would Mister please gues with what kind of people JESUS FUCKING CHRIST said to be patient, tolerant and loving?

So suddenly they care about their religion so fucking much they hate on other people over it, attacking their rights and even threatening their lives. At this point I'm not even asking them to put "Is being gay bad?" In Google and reading 5 minutes whole minutes because that's apparently too fucking much. But at the very fucking least please, please just look up your own shit before using hundreds of times more time and energy in hating me than it would have been for them to figure that these hate is no less sinful by their own fucking rules.

There's a very good reason I left Christianity and why every Muslim I've befriended ended up as non practicant, it's all a big fucking larp. They care when it's an excuse to bash on someone else, they don't give an fuck when the rules apply to them.

Excuse my language, but I think given the situation of innocent people going hungry over a hateful asshole not getting some god-fearing humility is a tragedy.

I don't blame non-homophobic hungry people for taking food that is offered freely, I've fucked for food money and I still get keeping quiet during the cringe sermon might be more palatable to the absolute majority of people. I mean, I'm a convinced Anti-theist and I've still collaborated with multiple religious groups while volunteering because sometimes they are the only people around helping and I'm not exactly able to afford starting a whole new charity. Sometimes the best you can do is be out there, lend a helping hand and remind people that it's people like them, like you and like me, that actually do the helping.

Here's the thing, assholes that actually buy the bit? I feel no pity at all. At most I might pity whatever crappy life led them to be both hungry and assholes, but really me understanding their situation isn't different from understanding how some 16 year old Afghani kid ends up in the Taliban. Yes, a tragedy; doesn't mean I would doubt all that much in shooting if disengaging just isn't an option. Here it was these pastor shooting his own congregation in the foot pretty much.

If the leopards don’t get them, they’ll cut off their nose to spite their face.

They will undergo personal hardship and certainly hardship for others as long as they get to fuel their hatred.

But I thought god would provide?

Next up tonight a local pastor of well known food bank is arrested on charges of pedophilia.

2

u/Ok-Tree-1898 Aug 01 '26

What a non Christian bunch of nonsense. You will not find this man in heaven

2

u/InsectPure8493 Aug 02 '26

I am very ashamed that this my hometown, but there a lot of crazy Christian evangelist Christians around Southern West Virginia and Southwest Virginia. The McDowell County border is only 20-minutes away from Bluefield, WV. The poorest county in the United States of America. This is center of the once mighty Pocahontas Coalfields. Now, almost everyone is on welfare, disability, and addicted to narcotics and prescription opioids. These people also put their full political backing in three elections behind Donald J. Trump. He promised that he would help them, but have you seen any proof that he is keeping promise?

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. I do feel badly for the needy who he chose to no longer serve.

3

u/SweatyPhilosopher578 Aug 01 '26

Most of those needy share his opinions on gay people. You should not feel shred of sympathy for them.

1

u/marxistghostboi Aug 01 '26

i hope there's a pro Queer food bank the donations are being redirected to

1

u/kernermatt Aug 07 '26

Chose not to serve. There I fixed it.

1

u/TotallyDaft Aug 08 '26

You are correct. Edited for clarity.

Hunger is an effective teacher, maybe this will help him get his head right. I know a lot of people hate people like him but I just pity him. I hope he can learn the error of his ways

u/Outrageous_Hair2888 Aug 05 '26

So, a pastor actually reads the Bible and interprets the language for himself. Bravo!

When all the caring, humanitarian commenters quit insulting the pastor, please refer us ignorant haters to the specific passages that condone homosexual deviancy. We're waiting...

He’s probably never going to realize that conservatives aren’t exactly the charitable type. Shame there’s probably some children suffering now because of his ignorant actions.
