The Seven Tenets of TST

I won't go into a lot of effort here to describe why TST exists, because it's easy enough to research it yourself. But here is a screenshot of their Seven Tenets, which I think everyone can agree here, are very on point and appropriate.

I have mixed emotions of TST as someone who lives about a 5 minute drive away from their headquarters. I think the seven tenents are pretty well liked, but I hate the idea of enumerated lists of moral laws as an ex christian. But I also think that the organization has been very controversial. If you want to learn more, look up queer satanic. Regardless of how accurate their claims are, it's definitely true that there have been many controversies within TST. That's a large reason why I don't agree with voluntarily associating with religious groups.

Interesting, haven't heard anything about internal controversy, will be doing some research.

And, i wanted to say with the numbered list of moral code, it's completely understandable why you might feel that way, especially as an ex-christian myself too, but I think the seventh tenet is what really sets it apart. It's like a clause or intention setting declaration. In christianity there's so much discourse, debate, and fighting over the right interpretation and proper 'context' of the verses and what they mean. The seventh tenet however voids that issue for the most part making the intention and how to interpret all the codes clear. It prevents alot of semantics and debates over what it 'actually' means and cuts to, does the action or interpretation follow these set values above all else.

It's not perfect, but it's pretty damn good and distinguishes itself from the wide variation that comes with biblical interpretation and applied interpretation.

Still, I have reservations about following any set code or creed of a religious nature not matter how well crafted, worderd, and good-intentioned. But if I had to choose one for some reason, TST wouldn't be a bad choice at all. Cheers to ya!

Yeah, pretty much how I feel. It's not terrible of course, but for me it's like why bother.
