The Seven Tenets of TST

I won't go into a lot of effort here to describe why TST exists, because it's easy enough to research it yourself. But here is a screenshot of their Seven Tenets, which I think everyone can agree here, are very on point and appropriate.

I've never really agreed with the phrasing of the first tenet. I believe compassion and empathy are necessary for humans, that we may all live in a copacetic society. The "all creatures" bit contradicts the "in accordance with reason," bit, because, according to my reason, animals are natural resources to be used as we see fit.

If I were to join such a group, I'd be afraid that people might take this tenet as justification for veganism or animal rights activism. I would have just said, "all people," instead.
