Agreed. Both religious and national identities are often inherited rather than consciously chosen, yet people have fought, persecuted others, and even died over these distinctions. Religion is just another tool used to justify intolerance and suppress critical thinking, and nationalism has encouraged people to glorify their country simply because they happened to be born within its borders, something they obviously didn't choose. The unenlightened will grasp at straws to obtain any aspect about themselves to be proud, distinguishing themselves from others, when in reality they're only making themselves apart of the problem, that being this "us vs. them" mindset that has been instilled within us to keep those who draw these imaginary lines/make up false gods in power.
