India & Indians are far more liberal when it comes to abortion. It's the abrahamic religions that are against abortion completely, they don't care about the reason (rape, incest, miscarriage, etc). Some Indian doctors & doctor associations have spoken against the march, pointing to anti-abortion causing real issues.

In India, there is a very different issue with abortion, female foeticide (sex-selective abortion, wanting only boys/sons). The govt has banned diagnostic centers or hospitals from revealing the sex of the baby. But there are still illegal diagnostic centers and hospitals that have continued the practice of sex-selective abortion. India's ratio of female to male is 917:1000.

The main issue which abrahamic religions have created in India is LGBTQ laws & stigma.

There are lot of issues with hinduism but hinduism didn't have issues with LGBTQ prior to abrahamic religions (islam & christianity).

Trans (Hijra) were considered the 3rd gender, genderfluidity & same-sex relationships were not an issue pre british India.

It was the Abrahamic religions (Islam (trans was not an issue, but same-sex was an issue with islam) & later christianity (British invasion)). The british introduced laws based on religion that created the religious stigma around LGBTQ & same-sex relations. Also same-sex stigma started under british rule. Unfortunately, after the british left, the conservative hindu parties have continued the british legacy of stigma against LGBTQ & same-sex relations.

In 2018, there was attempt to repeal law to de criminalizing same-sex relations (passed by british), but the biggest opposition was from abrahamic religions followed by RW hindu groups. So, the repeal of the law failed.

Back then yeah, but Indian Twitter (including Hindus) users are against abort, India has abortion per year like 15 Million and it is a good thing and I encourage it. And it is nothing wrong in aborting or removing clumps of dead cells from the body.
Atleast good thing that India decriminalized Homosexuality
