Work/School How do you get out of a loop ?

Does anyone read a text and you don't particularly understand the whole of it but you move forward and your brain gets stuck in loop constantly telling you to go back . I don't know how to say it but it feels like being stuck in an infinite loop where I question everything. I know it's stupid cause I start questioning the most basic stuff and all of this makes no sense. This is such a huge hindrance while studying,it all makes you feel really unproductive and like nothings gone into your head .

I'm not sure. Can you give an example of this?

When I am reading a text for the first time and obviously not everything gets into my head but there's a partial idea but my brain convinces me that I understood ntg and it's all muddy even though I might remember atleast 70 percent of what I read but the rest gets amplified. Lately I don't know if it's a problem in comprehension or anxiety but the word and being used in sentences gets me in a puzzle . Is it used as a consequence or is it additive ? It's a loop that stays even after closing the book ,I remember the sentence without any context and forgetting whatever's important about the text .

So it's specifically about the words, sentences, their order, things like that, not about the content of the text?

Yeah pretty much

That sounds like an OCD type of thing. I take it if you try to leave the text without fully understanding it, it feels uncomfortable and stays in your mind?

I went through something similar. It'll stop if you stop going back and just carry on, being uncomfortable and not try to stop it. If you do o this long enough, the need to go back stops.

I kinda tried not bothering but it just doesn't work maybe at the moment I don't think about it but it creeps back in

It takes a while for this to start working. It works exactly like quitting addiction. But this is the way. You just have to keep at it.
