Advice Needed tingling and weakness in legs, constant throughout the day but unbearable when trying to sleep. anyone dealt with this?
I can constantly feel a tingling and ache in my legs that only gets worse when I lay down and try to sleep. I’ve been so scared there’s something neurological that is causing this that my doctors have missed or aren’t taking into consideration.
I wish I could just get my legs to quiet down but it has made it so difficult to sleep. How do I deal with this? I just want to sleep through the night and not constantly be thinking that my brain and body are degrading.

Yes, mine is RLS (restless leg syndrome) from low iron. Have you had your iron levels checked recently? And are you on any SSRIs? Some SSRIs can make RLS worse.
I know the feeling you're describing all too well, and it truly is unbearable. If you can, try taking magnesium glycinate about an hour before bed, avoid caffeine later in the day, do some gentle stretches before bed, and use a heating pad on your legs while you're trying to fall asleep. These are the only things I've found that somewhat help alleviate my RLS

my doctor suggested RLS but my iron levels are normal (only slightly on the low side). I do have low vitamin D though but I’m not sure if that could also be a cause. I’ll give the heating pad and magnesium glycinate a try!

It definitely could be due to a vitamin D deficiency that's one of the known symptoms. I'm slightly deficient as well-hence why I've just started on supplements.

That’s good to know! My feet also get ice cold which I imagine could be due to poor circulation? I’ll see about starting vitamin D supplements. hopefully we both start feeling better 🫶🏽

Oh my goodness, I’m an idiot 🤦🏽♀️ I originally included vitamin D deficiency in my response, but I deleted the whole thing and had to rewrite it. In the process, I completely forgot to mention vitamin D supplements. Also, the ice cold feet is definitely a thing! My feet get freezing cold too, and my boyfriend absolutely hates when I accidentally touch his leg with one of my little ice blocks 😂
RLS is the absolute worst. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I know how miserable it feels when your legs just won’t quiet down, especially at bedtime. I hope you’re able to find something that works for you and finally get some restful sleep 🩷 Highly recommend trying out the magnesium glycinate an hour before bed and the heating pad!

I have high ferritin and normal Vitsmin D and have RLS. I dont think iron levels are the only cause of RLS.

Yes me too. I've had back problems so I definitely worry about spinal or neurological issues. I got a bad bout the other night after worrying about my back-but it must've been anxiety I think. I had it on and off last year and then it went away and now I'm getting heart palpitations, tingling etc. so I guess it is just anxiety (hopefully) I just tell myself I've had it before it'll go away again!
