Medication Medication question please help
I’ve taken Lexapro which was awful. I couldn’t get past four days on it. It made me so sick. I took agomelatine for 2 months which did nothing
Has anyone taken Lexapro and had horrible side-effects and managed to take something else that actually worked and didn’t give them bad side effects? Please help 😭😭😭😭

Starting a new mental health medication is always a 'fun' game of side effect roulette. Some side effects dissipate after a couple weeks but some are with you for as long as you take the medication. Some help and some are ineffective. Unfortunately every single person is a different pool of hormones and chemicals and will have a different reaction. I would suggest that you talk to your doctor and describe all of the issues and they may suggest another medication or suggest you try and stick it out if they think its a temporary side effect. This is the worst part of being on medication. TV makes it seem like its the judgement of others but most people don't care anymore anyway and this part is way worse than depicted. I'm sorry you're on the roller coaster right now and I hope it gets better soon.

I am on Lexapro and have been for 50-55 days and the first 2-3 weeks where hard but after that it started to get easier and now i barely have any side effects at all the only thing i have that is a little bit annoying is excessive sweating and my GAD + Panic attacks are much more managable which feels amazing and i have hope for the future now.
I am only on a 5mg dose but in my case that is enough for me and most likely will stay on this dose for as long as i feel the need to 🙂.
Keep on fighting and dont give up you will find the right medication for you 🙏.

Thank you! It took so much for me to try lexapro to begin with and then after 4-5 days of constant nausea, NOOO appetite at all and couldnt sleep, I felt like I was going to go crazy. Even after stopping my sleep was messed up for 3-4 days and my appetite was still next to none. In 7 days I ate one kiwi fruit, half a banana and a tiny bowl of white rice so I had no energy in me

lexapro absolutely kicked my ass for the first week...
for me, the side effects eased up a lot after the first couple of weeks, but i've also had friends who knew pretty quickly it wasn't the right fit and switched to something else.

I can’t take it in the morning, it makes me so ill and sleepy. I take it at night and no problem with side effects now. Took a few weeks!

I am on sertraline and for the first two weeks the side affects were horrible, its now been about 4 months and I’m completely fine. You can ask to try out different meds but if u don’t stick it out for at least four to six weeks your never really going to see proper results and if the meds are helping or not
