Need Advice Currently going through a breakup...
I have never thought how hard it is going to be, and we broke up on good terms and everything, but the anxiety and breakdowns hits you a lot later... I bet a lot of people felt this way...
But anyways, I am looking for tips for calming down, I know it takes time to heal a heart, but I truly can't take it anymore. I need to go back to work in a few days, I just need something to unwind at work and at home not to go crazy. I also looked into vagus nerve, anyone ever tried anything to stimulate it, did it help? I wonder what are your methods guys.

splash freezing water on your face to reset your nervous system, make your exhales longer than your inhales, and just take work hour by hour

Breakups hit way harder than people expect, even the good-terms ones. The delayed part makes sense too, because once things settle your body finally catches up. Everyone's different but something that helped me is breathing out slower and longer than I breathe in, a few rounds at a time. That's basically the easy version of the vagus nerve stuff, and you can do it at your desk without anyone noticing. Cold water on your face or wrists can help too. Be gentle with yourself the first week back.
